Hadnt been to Howards in awhile.
Ordered the 3 Beef Enchilada meal. Beef tasted like it had more beans then beef. The gravy was very salty and pretty much was mashed potatoe gravy. They give you about 3 blades of lettuce. And 4 pieces of tomatow. The beans were so bad. They stuck in the shape of thw ice creama coop used to put them on the plate.
Ordered 2 Beef tacos. Beef amd lettuce only. The beef was soooo overcooked. It was like little chunks of charcoal. Askes for them to be replaced with fresh tacos. 2nd batch came almost the same. Looks like they reheat the beef in a microwave and it overcooks it.
Other meal was ok.
In total our bill was $50. 4% charge for a debit card. And when we told the lady at the register about our food. All we got was a “oh sorry”. We will not be back. And its no wonder it was empty inside.

The food was very good, with a good variety of selections. The atmosphere fit the theme of the restaurant was was very welcoming. And the service overall was very good with the only issue being the general speed and time that it took to receive food at our table. Overall this is a very solid pick of somewhere to eat at for special occasions or just to have something authentic.

My favorite of all time. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and so has my whole family, my own child has this experience now. My father has been coming here since he was a child, as well as my Grandmother! The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Nothing else compares. We know the original owners and I have to mention that I wish the new owners wouldn’t have changed the look of the inside. They are moving to be more modern but that’s not what Howard’s was about, it was about feeling at home with your family, we miss the red cola cups, red velvet chairs, and rainbow handprints on the walls. Still the same great food as always! See you sometime soon Howard’s!

Haven’t been here for nearly 20 years. I figured I’d swing in for lunch after pushing snow. The service was fantastic the young man that was my server did fantastic. The food was better than good until I had a roach pass buy me at the bar. I can’t excuse roaches or any bugs near my food. Unfortunately I will not be back.

We both ordered the enchiladas and shared a dessert so our food experience was limited. We did like how saucy it was. Food was good.
I just found it to be a not so comfortable place to sit. The environment wasn’t warm and inviting. As it’s not close by it’s not a place I would be itching to return to, but if my friend really wanted to go, the food was fine, but not so remarkable that it won me over.
It’s just with all the Mexican choices, this wouldn’t be my first or second… It’s further on the list.

Update….on 7/26/2023 @ 6pm we went to eat here. I have never complained about this place cause i love it, but last night my tacos were very soggy. Maybe a one-time thing, but the way management was was not good. Just not the same. The waitress was not attentive either. Tacos are the best, wish more restaurants would cook them like this. And the red chili is fantastic and the burritos are very good. We are from out of town (but I grew up here with Howards) has not changed. My favorite Mexican restaurant and I’ve traveled from Virginia, GA, Texas, California and few other places non is like Howard’s. A must try when visiting Omaha

We’re from Denver and this place really reminded my husband and I of Casa Bonita atmosphere. Food was great. We both had a mix of the red and green chili and it was amazing. He had a bowl of it and I had mine over a beef burrito. Great place for sure! Staff was also attentive and awesome!

Standard Mexican fare. Food was tasty and hot. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Servings were brought out randomly. One person was the only one with food for 5-10 mins then ended up with one person not getting their food until 10minutes after everybody else.
