This is a must try for anyone and everyone in the area. This is a little market with tables set up so you can eat there or take out. We had a beef shawarma platter, and a chicken shawarma sandwich. We were so I to it we forgot to take pictures. It was amazing! I’m sad that this isn’t on my normal route or else we’d be having this once a week. It was filling, the rice on the platter was seasoned to perfection. I saw some people making fresh made round flatbread in the back and I purchased some groceries and some of that bread on the way out. I HAD to try the bread on the way home and I was not disappointed in the least! This will definitely be on my short list for food out.

Food is always consistently great. Friendly staff great service. I’m from Massachusetts and the baklava here is better than any other I’ve tried. They gave me free baklava for my wife and kids to try after I told them it’s the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the area I’d would have to say try this little hole in the wall out, you won’t be disappointed.

We stopped here during a road trip because of all the good reviews on google. We needed somewhere for dinner and figured 600 5-star reviews couldn’t be wrong. They were not wrong! My husband and I got the shwarma platter and the shwarma sandwich. Both were delicious and lots of food! My husband particularly recommends the spicy red sauce to go on the shwarma.
The owner was very friendly and gave us some free baklava to try. We also picked up some snacks for the next day while we were at it, and some Turkish coffee for use at home. The store had a great selection of food and ingredients that are difficult to find elsewhere.

Tried the food here for the first time on 2/13/26 and have to say it was absolutely delicious. I got both a beef and chicken shawarma platter which came over rice. The rice alone is delicious. The meat was shaved from the vertical grill. The portions are very generous and very tasty. Also tried some of the hummus and bread which is all made in house and the samoon bread was very fresh and delicious. Definitely will be back. Should also say the person serving me was very nice.

Dined in. Clean, informal dining area. we had beef lamb shawarma platters with hummus, bread, and salad along with guava drinks. the meal was delicious! Couldn’t resist the tea and baklava. So Pleasant and delicious! Service was friendly and timely. Very gracious host!

We drove all the way from Charlottesville and randomly came across this place what an absolute gem. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can truly taste the quality and authenticity in every bite.
On top of that, the owner is an amazing guy welcoming, kind, and genuinely passionate about his food and customers. He made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.

Friendliest customer service I’ve had in a long time. Owner and staff are extremely welcoming. He will take the time to show you around his store and answer all your questions. Our first visit, he gave my mother in law, wife, and myself a sample of their freshly made baklava. By far the best I’ve ever had. I read a lot of their reviews and saw people talking about the shawarma so I had to try one for myself (first shawarma in my life). I’m 6’2 260 lbs and can eat more than most others. THIS SHAWARMA WAS SO BIG I HAD TO SAVE HALF FOR LATER. A combination of high quality customer service and great food makes this place a true hidden gem of the Fredericksburg area. We also tried their hummus and it was very creamy and delicious; topped with their authentic olive oil. They sell their olive oil in store which originates from one place as opposed to 99% of Olive oils found in common grocery stores. You have to go try it for yourself. Great job Baghdad Mediterranean market we will be back again, and again, and again.
