Our party of four started with the wedge salad and the “table gnocchi,” which was a standout. The gnocchi was divine—pillowy soft, creamy yet somehow still light, with succulent sausage that paired beautifully with the gentle bitterness of the broccoli rabe.
For our mains, my husband and I shared the trout and the short rib stroganoff. Both dishes were excellent, with generous portions and thoughtful flavor combinations that made it hard to choose a favorite.
We ended with the crème brûlée and the tiramisu—classic, comforting, and absolutely delicious. A perfect ending to a truly satisfying dinner. Highly recommend for a relaxing and delicious evening out in Weaverville!
The garlic knots were absolutely incredible and its was only the beginning.
I ordered the Ribeye, my favorite cut, and my wife the half chicken. We also ordered drinks, a sidecar and whiskey sour.
First came the drinks. I could not believe how well made both drinks were. Sadly I guess I’m just used to my drink being meh and watered down. These were anything but.
Then came the food. Just writing this review I’m finding my mouth water and the strong urge to drive over there right now.
My Ribeye was wonderful, in fact, it might just be the best I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection it practically cut itself as soon as my knife touched it. The beans and potatoes were the perfect complements.
My wife, who has a silver medal in picky eating, wasn’t expecting the sensory experience she was about to endure. After 30 years together I can’t remember the last time she actually would not stop talking about how great her meal was and the disappointment on her face when she was done that there wasn’t anymore left.
Just when we were about to cry uncle, our waitress expertly slipped in the dessert menu and we conceded that there was still the tiniest amount of room left to indulge. After all, my wife is contractually obligated to consume the cream brûlée. It’s in the rules and who am I to break them.
One upside is that the service was excellent — efficient and very nice. But it’s a real pity about the food. And at $30-50/meal, there are much better options nearby.
I ordered the Seafood Creole, which was similarly underseasoned and required salt and pepper at the table. The addition of garlic and crushed red pepper flakes would have greatly improved the dish. Unfortunately, the shrimp and scallops were tough and chewy; properly prepared seafood should be fork-tender. The dish was also not served with a crusty bread, which was disappointing, as it would have been ideal for enjoying the remaining broth.
My husband ordered the grilled ribeye with green beans and smashed potatoes. The ribeye was chewy and completely unseasoned. The smashed potatoes had a slight crisp but lacked seasoning, and the green beans were undercooked and also unseasoned. The dish as a whole required basic seasoning and should have been prepared that way before reaching the table.
It just seems like the restaurant is playing it safe by not seasoning the food.
Finally, we shared the house-favorite dessert, the Southern-style coconut cake. The cake itself was delightful, though the portion size felt quite small.
Unfortunately, the service mirrored the food experience. Feedback was shared with our server regarding the dishes, but it was disregarded.
Will we return? Possibly. We believe in giving a restaurant a second chance.

Forget about the second chance. No one from the restaurant bothered to answer the review. Must have enough business not to care.
huge plus with so many restaurants closed. The atmosphere, food and service were top notch. Nice and varied wine menu, good specials and I can say the wedge salad with shrimp was wonderful. The garlic rolls at the start of the meal were amazing, and desserts made in house. Don’t miss this wonderful place!
