Asian Kitchen Thai & Lao Food – Bowling Green – MapQuest
Reviews
I was in Bowling Green on business and was honestly surprised by how many different ethnic restaurants there are here — Asian, Hispanic, African — such a fun mix for a smaller city. I ended up at Asian Kitchen Thai & Lao Food, and wow… what a find. I wish I lived closer because I’d be here almost every day.
The Vibe:
Asian Kitchen sits in a small strip center and only has a couple of tables inside, which tells me most of their business is takeout — probably 99%. It’s simple and unpretentious, but very clean and well-kept.
Service:
This is where the place really shines. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in and couldn’t have been more welcoming. We chatted a bit, and he shared that his father started the restaurant and he’s now carrying it on. You can feel the pride and care in what they do — it’s clearly a family-run business built on authentic recipes and genuine hospitality. Service was quick, warm, and full of that kind of local charm that makes you want to come back.
Food & Drinks:
I ordered the Thai Fried Rice with tofu (stir-fried jasmine rice with egg, carrot, peas, and onions), and it was absolutely divine. Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and full of fresh flavor. As I’m writing this review, I’m honestly wishing I had some of it with me right now.
Overall:
If you’re in the Bowling Green area or even just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop at Asian Kitchen. It’s a true hidden gem — authentic, family-run, and serving some of the best Thai food I’ve had anywhere in the country.
The space inside is very small so I wouldn’t rely on eating inside but 10/10 for me!
Tofu fresh roll: 8/10
Tofu kee mao: 9/10
I ordered the Pad Phet, and glad I did. I ordered the highest spicy level, and it brought the heat! Very good Thai food, and I’ll certainly be back next time I’m in Bowling Green.
As others have mentioned, be prepared that this is pretty much just a takeout restaurant.
