The Danview has become a hometown favorite because of its delicious, simple and reasonably priced meals. The atmosphere is comfortable and when inside you get a kind of anywhere in the USA feeling. Customers are the friendly type while they sit waiting for their southern homemade dinner to be brought to their table. Whether having breakfast, lunch or dinner, people enjoy looking around the room to see folks they recognize. So many remember coming to the Danview as children and reminisce about the good times they had eating there with their loved ones. This establishment has become a favorite of ours. The menue is extensive. They offer daily specials, everyday specials and regular menu options. If you are looking for authentic down-home-style cooking, you really need to visit them. The meals they serve are delicious and the staff are always friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. If you are in the Danville Virginia area, I highly recommend them. You won’t be disappointed.

Decent food, exceptional prices and you will not leave hungry. Onion rings were delicious. Great portion for the value, my husbands kind of place. Unfortunately I ate too much to try the chocolate pie that looked very yummy, maybe next time. Seemed like the “locals diner” but they were very friendly to us obvious out of towners! We had chicken and dumplings (needed a little more flavor) and the beef tips. Husband says the mashed potatoes were good.

The portions were very small. Cabbage was like 2 tablespoons. I was shocked because I used to go here many years ago and it wasn’t like that. We ended up with a bill of about 50 bucks for 2 vegetable plates and 1 soda, 2 waters and vegetable soup with a grilled cheese. I couldn’t believe it.

They do have some space constraints, so I’m not sure how accommodating they could be for a group bigger than 4. Taller people coming by themselves may also find seating slightly uncomfortable.

Very friendly staff and fairly good home cooking. The Squash & Onions were just like grandma used to make. The string beans were deliciously tender and properly seasoned with salt and a touch of sweetness. Always a sucker for onion rings and these were crispy and tasty despite being wholesale style. Cornbread was a little dry and thin but complimented the cooked vegetables nicely. The Boston Cream cake was a nice combination of decadent chocolate on a slightly under-sweet cake and gentle cream layer keeping it from being too rich. Such a nice little place with a very home style atmosphere that has obviously been serving the community for a while.

So good to pass by and have a taste of this delicious southern food. Warm friendly welcome from the staff in the best south way. The food was great, and reasonable price for the good selection. The deserts were the icing on the cake!!!
