At our Columbus, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food is very good, but it’s been several weeks since their soda machine has been out of order. Honestly, what’s the problem? Are their maintenance personnel busy, or do they not care? Having bottled soda is not a good look for an establishment, whether reputable or not.

Food was quite decent and came out fairly quick. I read many others mentioning they get the orders wrong, so I was very careful to continuously clarify my order, which I’m glad I did, because it took several repetitions until the cashier repeated my shrimp back to me. But our order did come out correctly in the end. The staff were respectful.

Place was a little bit dirty but nothing crazy. Our table was clean so good enough in my books.

We got white fish (meh), cajun fish (really good), shrimp (decent), fries (meh), and hushpuppies (really good).

I visited this location on november the first at approximately nine forty five at night.When I got my food, it was hard.And it was disgusting, took it back.And when I arrived, the manager told me they could not refund my money because their system was down yet a car behind me was about to get their food.So i’m confused.I will be bringing this back to the restaurant tomorrow.But they have gone downhill.The food is not good and the service is even worse

I could not order food at 11:55 due to 3 employees at the front counter were more interested in their own conversation. There was 1 female & 2 males. The 2 males were loud talking and making me pause placing my order due to their conversation talking over me and after my 2nd pause in ordering, I decided to leave due to their ignorance & attitud

I ordered 3 of the 5 pieces of shrimp for 1.99 today. I got charged for 3 but only got 1 order. Fast but rude service. I live too far away to come all the way back. I need a refund ASAP.

I couldn’t tell how long it has been since eating Captain Ds but it’s the first time I ever dined in. I must say I was impressed with the amount of food I got for $8.99. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! The atmosphere was comfortable and real clean. The service was good. I do wish they served Coke instead of Pepsi. I will definitely be coming back for more.

The girl at the front did a great job, she had to work the counter and the drive-thru by herself. The food was great, it came out hot and fresh and completely delicious. Place was nice and clean also.

I came today to get lunch, I ordered a seafood deluxe and specially asked for spicy. They gave me original, then they burnt my crab and shrimp. It was literally damn near black. Then they forgot to give me hush puppies so I paid $14 for their I get my order wrong. They also threw ketchup packets into my bag but one of them was leaking so it got all inside my bag, unfortunately I had to rush back to work so I didn’t check until I was outside my building. Very disappointed, their staff used to be good and made good food a year ago but now? They literally don’t care. The service was ok, she actually asked me how my day was and greeted me but besides that, her voice showed no enthusiasm.

Captain D’s on Airport Thruway has to be my favorite one in Columbus. Out of the last 17 years I’ve lived in the area, I’ve only gotten bad customer service maybe once or twice. The food is prepared nicely and always hot. For this to be like a fast food seafood restaurant, the food is delicious. Initially, I thought I did not like crab cakes, but I tried these and fell in live with the wholesome taste. All their sides are good; however, I am not a fan of their corn on the cob. It tastes bland to me. Well most places corn on the cob taste bland to me. I have to put lots of butter and salt on it. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
