We discovered The Whiskey Priest back in 2020 when only outdoor dining was allowed, and we’ve been coming ever since. It’s become one of our go-to spots.
We come so often that our usual waitress recognizes us as soon as we walk in and immediately becomes our server. We wish we knew her name so we could properly shout her out – she always takes such great care of us and makes us feel like regulars in the best way.
Our staples are the buffalo wings and the carne asada fries – honestly, those two are usually more than enough for us. If we’re extra hungry, we’ll add the seasonal goat cheese salad, which is always a solid choice.
Wednesday night trivia is also a lot of fun and adds to the great neighborhood vibe.
Only tip: try to arrive before 7:30 PM because parking can get tight.
We’ll definitely keep coming back.

I visited Whiskey Priest for the first time and it was a 10 out of 10 experience. The atmosphere felt welcoming right away, and the food was delicious.
Daniel really went above and beyond. He was attentive to my family and me, noticed when a drink was a bit strong for my taste, and suggested something smoother, which I really appreciated. He also filled us in on the events during the week and let us know the place gets even more lively on weekends.
I’d definitely recommend checking it out, and I’m already looking forward to coming back on a weekend.

Okay this place is a great place to get some food and dance your ass off!! Please note this place has two locations, the one in Belleville is literally a whole party vibe. The DJ is amazing and knows how to play the right music with great transitions unlike the one in Hackensack, would definitely recommend it for a good night out to dance and have drinks with your friends.

This spot is definitely a hidden gem! They offer really great happy hour specials and even have trivia night on Wednesdays! The food was excellent and service was fabulous. Ambiance was cozy, but definitely not a quiet spot! A very lively Hoboken style bar. Would definitely recommend!

This place was recommended by one of my Uber passengers Jasmine, who was a bartender here. Let me tell you ,1st the DJ was awesome. I mean he played so many different jams , that we couldn’t help but to get up and dance! Our waiter was Daniel. He was super attentive and had a dope personality, even brought us complimentary green tea shot . Our food was so delicious. Shout out to the chef as well. We had an absolute fun time here. I love the diversity of the atmosphere.
We came on a Sunday, and the kitchen is open til 11pm and they close at 2am. That’s really a great thing being that most places stop serving early and close early on Sundays. Not here though, if you want to vibe out , eat well and drink well on a Sunday, then this is the place to be. Good place to watch sports too. I had a great time.

Whisky Priest is truly one of those places that leaves a lasting impression. The atmosphere is incredible from the moment you walk in. The food is consistently delicious and full of flavor, making every visit feel special. The hosts and servers go above and beyond and make you feel taken care of the entire time. I also want to give a special shout out to the bouncers, Casey and Gregg. They are always professional, friendly, and make everyone feel safe. Whisky Priest never disappoints and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out.

Came here with my friend to celebrate NYE at my local bar & we’ve been coming every year for about 3 years now & it is always a fun time as the bartenders are always on point but I have never seen a bartender drunk to the point where she asks for my drink order 5x and still doesn’t get it right! Not to mention she was rude & didn’t even know what to charge me for!They must have had a fill in at the back bar because I had never seen her before & this girl was all over the place, taking shots while she was suppose to be making drinks for people waiting! Our drinks were horrible. I understand it was NYE but still, it was unprofessional & I was disappointed with my night. Had to fight through the crowd to get my drinks at the main bar instead.

Nice Pub bar vibe with lots of tvs perfect to watch sports. My husband and I came for lunch and I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and my husband had the skirt steak sandwich. We both enjoyed our meals. We would definitely come back to watch some games and have drinks/food. The patio also looked like a nice area to hang out!

This place is every small local bars dream. They really do a nice job catering to their customers. The servers and staff were very nice, kind and attentive to making sure the customer needs were being met and in doing so they exceeded my expectations. It’s really refreshing to visit a place that takes customer service seriously. It’s really a lost art in the customer service business. This place has great vibe, drinks and food. I recommend gathering here for food and drinks with friends. You won’t be disappointed —prices are affordable so you won’t break the bank. I highly recommend this place and I’m definitely going back soon. Give this place a try.

Jersey has disappointed me, over and over again. So here we find our selves at The Whiskey Priest. Nice name and this is where the positives kind of stop. Parking isn’t the greatest because it’s in a residential area. I am officially making it my business to only visit establishments in New Jersey that get a rating of no lower than 4.7. And even a 4.7 is a risk in New Jersey when you come from Brooklyn, New York. They have the nerve to have a list of things that you cannot wear at the front door. This place is like a sports bar. They must have taken that sign from a fancier spot. We walk in and the bartender greeted us and said to take a table. I don’t think that was her job but it’s appreciated. About 7 minutes later, a server approached our table. Bar stools and chairs were hard. We ordered different wings, chicken fingers, fries and a volcano nacho. The wings looked good and were seasoned well. The chicken fingers were horrible and was returned. As for the volcano nacho… Fake melted American cheese, with no flavor on the chips nor on the chicken. Only taste was the jalenpeno peppers. This was also returned. The fries are good. We were highly disappointed. Now there are places in New Jersey, that if you go on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, you may get a bad meal because their top chefs usually work Thursday thru Sunday. Like at Hook and Reel. Went on a Tuesday and wanted to throw my food away. Then went on a Friday and it was amazing. In the case of Hook and Reel, my first visit was on a Friday (great). 2nd visit on a Tuesday (Horrible!). 3rd visit, a Friday (phenomenal). Unfortunately I will never know if this is the case at this establishment because I will not be returning. Side note, this was my first visit and it was on a Tuesday. Just saying. If you do go, I would just stick to the wings and fries. Make sure it’s a Friday or Saturday but I’m not sure if that will help the situation. For what we got, we overpaid. A very disappointing night. You live and you learn.
