I use to literally drive 30/35 minutes just to patronize here or when in town make it my business to stop. But, for the past 6/7 months it’s been a complete miss. I’ve received attitude in the drive-thru when asking for paper towels, utensils to eat MY food with, or condiments.. Secondly, everything I’ve ordered in the past 3/4 visits has been old, stale, or COLD! I keep saying, maybe it’s just a bad day. But, February 10th and 11th I made it my business to test out it. February 10th a Shrimp Po-Boy was ordered. Received po-boy, the shrimp were undercooked, cold, and bread was soggy. I asked for hush puppies and got half cooked fries ALL before NOON!
I went the 11th and ordered Large Tenders Platter. Tenders were cold/old and seemed to been cooked in the microwave(rubbery), French Fries were COLD and saturated with grease and seemed to be some leftover from the night before, and the mac/cheese! Lord, I have never had such awful Mac/cheese. It was cold and cheese wasn’t even stuck to the elbow noodles and NOT SEASONED. That was the final straw.
I called several times to complain, request a refund or something. I asked for a manager and was told no manager was available and all this happened before 11:30am. How is EVERYTHING I ordered not fresh and you all open at 10:30am?
Lastly, how is a manager not available and the establishment is functioning with NO AUTHORITY FIGURE available before NOON? Idk, but maybe that’s why my food and service has been awful the past 6/7 months.
Something needs to be done ASAP or just close the doors. How do you all want people to patronize the business, but when a customer have an issue or complaint magically NO ONE IS AVAILABLE? I digress!!! JUST DO BETTER!!

First time here at Zac’s and I absolutely made the right choice! Got the small catfish plate for lunch and it came with 3 fair sized fillets, wonderful fries with a crispy crust, slaw was sweet which I love, and hushpuppies were great as well. I came in very hungry and I just couldn’t finish my last hush puppy or slaw. Staff was nice and upbeat. If I’m ever in town again I’ll definitely look forward to coming back.

I was driving and saw it from passing thru meridian.
The catfish was fried to perfection.
The sides could have been better, but that won’t deter me from coming back.
Atmosphere is nice & quiet.
Staff was super nice and welcoming

They have a drive-thru the food was hot The food is inexpensive and the food is good. I would say the green beans are straight out the can but add a little salt and pepper you’ll be fine. The crab cake that they gave me could have been cooked a little more but it had a good taste. Overall good little place to stop when you’re on 20 going east or west

We did carryout. And I am not exaggerating when I say, (forgive me Mamaw) that was the best Catfish I have ever had. I have traveled the south extensively and tried catfish in upscale restaurants, the ones that use real glasses, all the way to a hose in the middle of a field in South Carolina that was a couple of great woman who charged 7.00 a plate as much as you could pile up one time through the line plus a sweet tea, and a banana pudding. It gave Mamaw a run for her money but this is the best.

The food is still good—different from how it was under the previous owners, but I’d give it a 7/10 overall. Unfortunately, the service quality has declined. Some staff members are unprofessional, including a manager named Abby, who lacks basic customer service skills. Many of the employees appear to be very young and inexperienced, which shows in how they handle customers. During my visit, one worker was laughing and goofing around in the kitchen, and others were gossiping about customers. The environment feels disorganized and unprofessional, and the service could use serious improvement.
