I visited Ging Thai on a Wednesday evening with high hopes. Upon entering, I was greeted by a dull atmosphere, though the staff were friendly. The table setting was poor and lacked effort, with the cutlery and napkins simply placed together in a single metal pot.
Our entrees were quite disappointing. We ordered the crispy fish floss, which I would not recommend as it felt like a waste, and the blue grenadier skewers, which were underwhelming. Additionally, the spiced chicken wings lacked flavor altogether.
Fortunately, the mains were a significant improvement. The wagyu shin had a mild taste but a beautiful, “melt-in-your-mouth” texture, and the massaman chicken was very flavorful. The spring rolls were also delicious and arrived steaming hot. To finish, the dessert was pleasant and showcased authentic Thai flavors, leaving us with no complaints regarding the final course.
Overall, my evening at Ging Thai was pleasant, but it left more to be desired. It is not somewhere I plan to return to.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Loved the ambience, with the view of Yarra river, beautiful decor. For drinks we ordered beers and their signature cocktail Melon Slipper. The cocktail was top notch! Would love to try the other ones for sure. For entree, we ordered Vegetarian Spring Rolls to share and it tasted great. For mains I had ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. Very well presented and tasted good as well. Also ordered the Vegetarian Pad Kee Mao but a bit disappointed with that one as I have had a lot better in other Thai places in CBD. The sauce was bland and the spice was way less for an authentic Pad Kee Mao.
Overall a good place for dining and would visit again!

We visited Ging Thai at Crown Casino just before 7PM on a Sunday. Even though the place was full, the service was impressively fast and the food came out quickly, which we really appreciated.

Dishes are affordable and great for sharing. We started with the kingfish, then for mains we ordered the minced beef, pork, chicken salad, and coconut rice. We also tried the tamarind soda, which was refreshing.

For dessert, we went all out and got the mango pannacotta, Bangkok Breeze trio, and the toasted coconut banana fritter. The sorbet paired with the banana fritter was such a perfect combo. All three desserts were only $33, which was such good value.

We left absolutely full and satisfied. Highly recommend!

A fantastic Thai restaurant! I really enjoyed the red duck curry. Although the portion wasn’t very large, the curry had a rich flavor, and it seemed to contain fruits like lychee, which gave it a subtle sweetness. The restaurant also has a great location, yesterday we sat at an outdoor table and could directly watch the fountain show outside, that was fantastic

3. Value: 8/10
4. Atmosphere and amenities: 9/10

Amazing service, waiters were very attentive and friendly! It was busy when we had dinner but everything ran so smoothly. Shoutout to the young lady with blonde hair (sorry we didn’t get her name) who was our waitress and was super friendly and gave great recommendations! Food & cocktails were also 10/10!!

We booked a pre-show dinner at Ging Thai before a performance at The Palms, and it was the perfect choice. We were given a set menu, which included a drink each along with two courses (entrée and main we opted for).
The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, fresh, and beautifully plated. What impressed us most was the efficiency; despite having multiple courses, the service was incredibly quick and well-timed. It allowed us to actually relax and enjoy the meal without constantly checking our watches to make sure we’d make it to the show.
High-quality food, great atmosphere, and perfect for anyone on a schedule at Crown. We’ll definitely be back!

The lunch we had here is quite disappointing considering how pricey the meals were. The potion sizes were really small and not quite worth the money at all. We had a stir fried paid thai which tasted like heated frozen meal you buy from woolies or coles , did not have the wok taste at all. Spiced chicken wings didn’t seemed to be season well enough as well, there were tons of fried spices and herbs decorating the plate but that didn’t make up the overall taste for us.

There are much better places with similar dishes which taste wayyyyy much better for a lesser price.

Not Recommended at all.

Ging Thai is a stylish and contemporary Thai dining restaurant at Crown.

The menu is packed with Thai favourites and served with great presentation and high-quality ingredients. The Pad Thai is beautifully balanced and the Green Curry is fragrant and creamy with just the right level of spice.

My problem has been consistency of food in taste and quality. It’s a hit-and-miss so some days I’ve come back happy and some days not.
