Love this place! Every time we come to Annick and Michel Scherb to buy our favorite wines we also eat at Taverne. Food is absolutely delicious! The little yard outside is cute and romantic. Book in advance if you want to go there for a dinner.

Such a shame because I really wanted to love this place, but it was just a disappointment. I was excited to try something new – the fleischschnakas – and my very first bite had a long hair wrapped all in and around it. Yuck!! My boyfriend’s sauerkraut was cool in the middle portion and was flavorless. My plate had a good flavor, but I also had the feeling that it had just been nuked in the micro because we arrived at opening and had our meal within ten minutes of ordering. My small salad and dressing was delicious – the best part of the meal. We wanted dessert but were afraid to try. Too, too bad because it’s a very cute space in a quaint little town. We spent 41€.

We only dropped by for a small dinner, with some good expectations as the reviews suggested it was a good place but it wasn’t our lucky night. The dishes were well presented but the choucroute was not very warm in the middle. It was dull in taste and the pork meat was rather chewy as supposed to that easy to pull apart texture you normally get. My girlfriend’s plate wasn’t bad in taste but she found a long hair as she had her first bite.
We didn’t feel the need of complaining because in the end, we just wanted to have a quick dinner and go after an exhausting day around the small towns rather than going into some confrontational situation.

Excellent lunch, what a way to start the new year!
Every single aspect of the meal, from the welcoming through out the paying were perfect. The restaurant is rather small (but cozy) and I would advise to book a table beforehand.
We will definitely come back and enjoy another Great meal with excellent Alsacien wine!
