We had my mother’s 80th birthday party there. The manager Dennis and the staff were fantastic! Everything went really well. The food was very good, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Very reasonable! I would highly recommend it!

The service was bad, the busboys don’t do their job, and my food took a millennia to come out. I got a the short rib with pumpkin risotto, one of their specialties. The short rib was good but the risotto was horrific. My family got the Osso Bucco, pan seared salmon, and branzino. The branzino was not deboned well. The drinks also weren’t great. I most likely won’t be coming back.

Had a great experience there recently. Went to dinner on Saturday night. Had the Shrimp Luciano which is always spot on. Also ordered the Chicken Ultimo which We love but it has cherry peppers so its got some kick. Brussel sprouts were awesome. Desserts were really good too. Dennis the Manager is an awesome guy and very helpful and generous.

Very disappointed with this place. We’ve been wanting to try it for a while and finally got a chance. We walked in and asked for a table for 2, and were greeted with annoyance (the restaurant was almost completely empty). The staff at the front took a few minutes to figure out which of the empty tables to seat us at, and brought us over to a table right by the door. It was very cold and we could feel the draft from the door at our table. We asked to be seated in their main dining room, where there were only 2 other tables, and were again met with an annoyed attitude.

They re-seated us at the only table that was half set, missing utensils and plates (every other table was fully set). Had to wait a few minutes for plates and butter knives for our bread.

We had planned to order a light dinner, just a caesar salad and cacio e pepe since it was 10pm and we were aware they would be closing soon.

The salad was good, nothing special but also nothing to complain about. However, the cacio e pepe was completely bland and had no flavor. It tasted like plain boiled pasta with a small sprinkle of black pepper.

Overall very disappointing experience and will not be returning.

We booked an 80th surprise bday party for 60ppl for my Mom at Matteos. I felt a bit awkward booking the party without physically seeing the venue. Although reviews were solid and they were recommended by a family friend. I’m glad we did. I worked with Dennis via email, he was great. The day of the event came, there was no issues, we wanted for nothing. The staff was incredible and beyond accommodating. The food was tasty and plentiful. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Overall, we’d go back again.

Haven’t been in years and went back for a holiday dinner. Loved that they offered their prices fix 3 course meal on a Friday night. I got the calamari arrabiatta which was excellent. For entree I had a pork cutlet dish with mozz and spicy peppers. Flavorful and nice portion. You also get a glass of wine and a second for $8. Great deal, food and venue. Service was a little slow, but only because they appeared short staffed. Our waiter was excellent when he did service the table.

Matteo’s of Huntington: The Trifecta of Taste, Style & Heart!

We Long Islanders are spoiled with excellent Italian cuisine—but Matteo’s of Huntington doesn’t just join the ranks, it leads them. Some restaurants dazzle with culinary artistry, others with ambiance or service—but very few shine in all three. Matteo’s, however, hits this coveted trifecta with flying colors.

A Flavorful Symphony for Your Senses

Every bite is a love letter to your palate, exploding with flavor and finesse. The kitchen masterfully blends traditional and innovative recipes from both Northern & Southern Italy , elevating your meal into a full-on experience.

The recently renovated space is a stylish, modern-chic dream—think rich wood accents, sleek marble finishes, glowing ambient ️ lighting, and mesmerizing fireplaces that dance and flicker, setting a cozy yet energetic vibe throughout. With mellow background music and a lively buzz , the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and alive.

Where Hospitality Becomes Magic

From the moment we stepped through the door , we were welcomed like family. Dennis, the managing proprietor, greeted us with a genuine smile, and hostess Hanna radiated warmth with her smile. The whole staff exudes passion and joy—it’s contagious!

A special shoutout to our server Melvin, whose courteous, polished, and charismatic service turned dinner into something truly special. ⭐️

The Feast Begins… ️✨

We kicked things off with the Shrimp Scampi Pizzetta and a Tricolor Salad .

Let me just say—this pizzetta is next-level. Tender gulf shrimp , EVOO, capers, garlic , arugula, and a hint of citrus ‍ , all atop a perfectly crisp crust oozing with melted mozzarella . It’s a flavor bomb that you must try.

The Tricolor Salad was no sidekick—it brought fresh burrata, roasted peppers , almonds, and greens together with a luscious balsamic glaze. Add those fluffy pizza bread points for scooping? Chef’s kiss. ‍ ❤️

The Showstoppers: Entrées That Wow ️

Each entrée dazzled (yes, I sampled everyone’s ).
•   Soft Shell Crabs Piccata : A dreamy combo of artichoke hearts , grape tomatoes , capers, and lemony angel hair pasta bathed in a delicate white wine sauce . Light, bright, and full of zing.
•   Grilled Shrimp “Wendy”: Subtly powerful. Perfectly grilled shrimp paired with charred string beans and a zingy Dijon mustard dressing. Simple, yet bold.
•   Baby Rack of Lamb : Coated in a Dijon-panko crust, served with fingerling potatoes and broccoli rabe , and finished with fresh chimichurri . Every bite was a bold, savory dance .
•   The Pork Chop “Ultima” : Topped with spicy cherry peppers ️ and melted mozzarella , this bone-in beauty was crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside. A true “wow” dish.

Sweet Finale: Dessert Dreams

Though we were stuffed, we were surprised with the dessert they brought to the table. The warm Dulce de Leche crepe with fresh strawberries and whipped cream was pure velvet. Light, sweet, comforting—utter perfection.

Everything was Spectacular

Don’t Miss This: Unbeatable Prix Fixe Deal

Matteo’s offers an exceptional 3-course Prix Fixe menu Tuesday–Thursday for just $44.95, including wine or beer . It’s an outstanding value packed with flavor, variety, and elegance—perfect for a midweek treat.

Whether you’re in the mood for a romantic date night, a lively group dinner, or just a great drink at the bar, Matteo’s offers it all—with heart, style, and unforgettable flavors. The high-energy vibe is fueled by the passion of both the staff and the happy patrons.

We’ll absolutely be back—very soon!

We had prix fixe. The food was not that impressive to be honest but for the money I can’t complain. The atmosphere is great but the outside seatings are right off the major road that you are exposed to a lot of noise while eating. The linguine and clam had some sand in it. Their parking lot is relatively small compared to the size of the hall. On one friday night we didn’t find a spot.

The restaurant was busy which was nice to see. We were seated at a corner table that was wheelchair accessible for one of our guests as requested. Appetizers – fried calamari and beet salad were very good. Main courses, Cacio e Pepe, penne a-la-vodka and shrimp Luciano were all extremely disappointing. Bland and generic and not nearly as good as you’d expect from your neighborhood pizza joint (despite the $29 – $32 price tag for a personal sized portion of pasta). The leftovers we brought home went uneaten. The noise level was excessive (even for Matteo’s which has a reputation for being very loud). We could not carry on a normal conversation at the table. Several customers wearing knit hats in the dining room and children playing games or watching videos at full volume on their parents phones contribute to the overall chaotic feeling in the dining room. Definitely not the premium experience that we expected or were looking for in a $250+ meal for 3.

Made a reservation during December holidays for main dining room, when we got there had a table next to kitchen door and and an outside door which was blowing in cold air, asked hostess for table change but couldn’t accommodate, they had to close curtain on door to keep cold breeze out. It was very uncomfortable. Ordered the warm mozzarella and came out cold, we spoke to Mgr and comped us that dish, very nice of him. We had other drink issues but our waiter was great, all the problems we had – he was pretty funny and very attentive so that made the time enjoyable. Good drinks, food was good, we were stuck near kitchen and there was a large obnoxious office party next to us, server had to tell that party to quiet down. Restaurant decorated nicely in main dining room where fireplace was, other room not so much. Parking is a disaster but after circling a few times finally got a spot in front.
