Best crab cakes in Maryland ! And awesome scallops as well. Quite amazing how they maintain great service even while they are usually pretty busy. I usually don’t eat french fries but these are REALLY GOOD. Got to meet Pete, the owner ! Nice when the BOSS is on premises!

Tried lunch at their Timonium location. Was a little difficult to find. Closer to come in off of Padonia Rd instead of York Rd. It is in the race. track upper deck. The restaurant is a decent size but was extremely cold inside. You can watch races on the multiple tvs and even gamble, if you like.
The wait time was nonexistent. We are immediately seated . A waitress appeared. Ordered an iced tea, garden salad and a Seafood Chesapeake sandwich ( which consisted of a crab cake and shrimp salad on wheat bread). Food came quickly. Everything was tasty. Crab cake was a little soft for broiled for my liking. Shrimp salad was average.
Would try this restaurant again during warmer weather.

I’ve been looking forward to visiting the new Costas location, after hearing mixed reviews from friends, I wanted to see for myself. The bones are much the same of the old Nick’s with some nice improvements, namely the management which seems to have a direct effect on everything else. I would never say Nicks was dirty, their downtown location is one of my regular stops with family, but the place is noticeably clean. I liked the staff at Nicks but the new staff seems a little more focused on a great customer experience, especially the man who in charge who was cordial to everyone I saw during my brief visit, beyond cordial, he took an interest and clearly has experience in creating a great customer experience. If I didn’t know any better, he could be the owner and since I don’t know the owner, he might be. From the staff to the customers, he expressed an interest and a genuine concern for the place and its people, refreshing in 2025. I ate a crab cake which was very good. As a crab cake enthusiast, it’s not the best I ever had but I’d give it a top ten seat. You still have the betting and keno but it somehow feels cleaner and more orderly. It’s a place I’d probably bring my kids to, without worrying if I’d have to explain away some obscene thing, it’s somehow just nicer than before. Also nice that they have regular hours and don’t close early or shut down for a private event like the old staff regularly did, or at least I hope they won’t start doing that. I’d recommend this place to all Maryland people who like a great experience, good crab cakes, and a near historic location. Six stars outta 5.

I usually only eat at the one in Dundalk which I’ve never had no problems with . I ordered from grub hub some calamari, they were so hard, old and dry that it literally cut the top of my gums. Someone literally fried these so hard you can’t even bite into them. I got my money back because this was honestly insane . I’ve never had such trash calamari

I had an awesome experience at Costa in Timonium! I ordered the steak and crab cake with mashed potatoes and coleslaw, plus a couple of great draft beers, and everything was excellent, especially for the price.

The steak was cooked perfectly and paired with a really tasty steak sauce, and the crab cake was absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes tasted fresh and homemade, and the coleslaw was exceptional — honestly one of the best I’ve had. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared.

The service at the bar was top-notch. My bartender was super friendly, attentive, and always checking in to make sure I was taken care of. Great food, great service, and a great overall vibe. I’ll definitely be back!

Costas Inn Timonium is finally open! They absolutely brought that Dundalk love and family feel to the fairgrounds.

The inside is modern, spacious and well laid out. TVs surround the walls offering a true 360 view so you never miss a moment, whether it’s football or horse racing. The staff as always, are welcoming and friendly. The bar is immaculate, with ample seating, and they have a great selection of beers on tap, and the liquor is prominently displayed in the center of the bar.

The food did not disappoint!! The refined menu highlights all of their classic hits, and it’s still made with love.

If you’re in the area or even if you’re not, come down, have a drink and experience the Costas Inn effect!

I am so sorry I did not take any pictures…I usually do. First time here for me and my daughter. Initial impression was not good…the hostess was AWFUL!! She was not friendly or attentive and we almost walked out due to being ignored for so long. The day was saved by Trip and our server Alex. Because of the 2 of them we are glad we did not leave. The pineapple crush was absolutely delicious. I got two of them. I needed a good drink after the “greeting” we received from the hostess. The Maryland crab soup was not hot but it was very very tasty. I am thinking it was the end of the pot because the flavors were out of sight!! My daughter enjoyed her fried calamari and Caesar salad. I got the pasta chesapeake which was an enormous portion!! I am going to take it home and add some Cajun or Blackened seasoning because I like my food with a little kick!!! We would definitely come back and maybe sit at the bar because the drinks were delicious!!! Thank you Trip and Alex for saving the day!! You truly made up for the very lackluster welcome. We will give Costas Inn another try because of you two…YOU ROCK!!!!

Dined at Costa Inn and loved it! Gulf Shrimp and Crab Stuffed Salmon were phenomenal, with fresh, perfectly cooked veggies. Busy vibe, but bartender Mike was quirky and attentive. Still smoothing out opening kinks, but the food shines. Highly recommend!

Friendly greeting upon arrival, prompt service and a wonderful menu including one of my favorite dishes, soft shell crabs! Not a fancy place but great for big groups or you can sit at the bar and enjoy, too.
The owner was stopping at each table to say hello and inquire if they can do anything else to ensure a great visit. I felt like I had met a family member!

Go a check it out, I’m sure you will have a great experience.
