Once seated, there was a long delay before our drinks arrived, and the waitress never returned for refills. Our appetizer didn’t arrive until 9:10 PM—almost two hours after our reservation. They were out of apple juice, and the milk was expired, leaving few drink options for our kids.
When the food finally arrived, the steak was very overcooked, and the overall meal quality was awful. Simply put, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. Hard pass on returning here. One star.
Great memories!
Last week, I went for my birthday and it was one of the most horrible dining experiences I’ve ever had.
First, they came out with a handful of plastic forks and said they only had 2 regular forks and everybody else had to use plastic. Mind you, it was 4:30 in the afternoon, and only 2 of the hibachi tables were being used at the time. So I don’t understand why there were only 2 forks and the rest were plastic, needless to say, I got a normal fork.
Second, they passed out yum yum sauce as opposed to the ginger and mustard sauce that they have had in the past. I don’t eat yum yum sauce.I think it’s disgusting and I don’t know when that became the norm, but no.
When I asked the waiter for mustard and ginger sauce, he told me to ask the chef when he came out. When I asked the chef, he told me to ask the waiter. So I got up and went to the front desk and talked to a guy, who I thought might be the manager, to ask for mustard and ginger sauce.
When they came out with the sauce, instead of giving it to me in the ramekin , they gave it to me in little plastic cups with lids , which I found to be unacceptable. This is not a to-go order.
Now to the chef. While he was friendly enough, all he did was cook. Literally cook. Not one trick. No onion volcano, no heart beating Fried Rice.No throwing shrimp in the air and it landing in the hat.Nothing. He just cooked as if he were at home. Unacceptable.
I very clearly stated that it was my birthday. But when I finished eating, I had to ask several people to take my Benihana birthday picture instead of them offering it to me.
I’m giving them a low score because it was an awful experience.
l admit that next year when I get my gift certificate, I’ll probably be back.
But I won’t waste my time at the hibachi table.
I’ll just get a regular table and bring my own silverware.
