I am from LA County and moved to San Diego County. 5 years here and this is still one of my favorite restaurants. Best burritos, taquitos, & chilaquiles! I added avocado and carne asada. We always get hangover and mole chilaquiles.
Very kind and bilingual workers! And comfortable eating.

Great service, very friendly staff, first time there, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, the taste is very good and the site is very clean and organized. I tried the chilaquiles with birria. The chips were perfectly crunchy while immersed in a mild spicy sauce; these came with a side of well done rustic potatoes and beans. My only suggestion is to add more sour cream and cheese to balance the spices in the sauce.

We enjoy this Mexican restaurant very much. We try to make it every Sunday because we love the food and the service. Cynthia always greets us with a big smile and kindness . Everyone is very friendly and we feel at home. Our favorites are Menudo and tacos de birria but really everything is delicious. Their papitas are very good as well.

Excellent team and amazing food with outstanding flavor. I’ve been coming here for breakfast for a long time, and their customer service is truly impressive. My entire family and I highly recommend Tomatito as the perfect family spot to enjoy breakfast and make the most of the moment. Thank you, Ángel, and the entire team for the excellent work!

First time eating here and was very impressed with the ambiance and super friendly employee kindness. My particular waitress was Azul but she prefers the name of Blue. She went out of here way to assisting me and provided extra napkins and utensils with a beautiful smile and very comforting high level of kindness and fantastic personality
If you’ve never tried the Tapatito before, then give it a go. Fairly priced and wonderful tasting food which comes with a good mix of different variety of Mexican plates that will put your tastebuds into a bit of a hog heaven!!! Ask for “Blue”!

This is the most underrated place in South San Diego!!(Which may be a good thing for us, don’t want it too crowded)The friendly service, the authentic Mexican flavors, the perfect portions!!! This place has it! The only thing missing is the space! Apparently all the locals know to come here so there is a crowd. The constant movement though allowed us to find a table right away. Ordering at the counter and self-seating makes it a bit easier. The flavor of the birria is mind blowing!! It can be compared to some of the best birrerias around! The birria omelette comes seasoned perfectly with cilantro cooked in the egg, it’s served over delicious Mexican rice and filled with the perfect portions of birria, cheese and beans. The meat omelette is filled with enough meats and seasonings that give it a great flavor!! What tops off the experience is the cafe de la olla. Perfectly blended! Not too sweet, not too bitter just right. Servers are constantly on standby to clear tables and bring whatever you need! I got the name of the server Miriam who was very kind and extremely helpful! This is definitely a place to check out!!

California burrito wasn’t to my taste. Fries were soft and over powered by the guacamole. It may have been mixed guac and sour cream, not sure, because I didn’t find any sour cream on its own. Very little cheese.
And they state no refills on their fountain drinks, something with margin enough to make this ridiculous. Just felt a bit greedy.

Update – still great food.
Very good food. I had the meat lover omelette and Cafe de la olla. See attached pictures. Only bad thing is the lack of parking. If you’re really needing to park just park across the street.
