I wanted so badly to like this place. It has a really cool vibe and I bet it is super fun for events but I ended up force feeding myself so that I didnt waste $13 on my cold soggy loaded fries. They were undercooked and greasy the pulled pork was cold and the cheese sauce or whatever it was on top was cold and a strange consistency. The portions were really small for the price as well. We were on a roadtrip and stopped here on the way and even with being starving no one in our group wanted to finish their food. We went around lunch time and it wasn’t very busy so maybe that was the issue but very disappointed overall

We came in to try a steak with sweet potatoe casserole and fries.on Friday Night. Let me tell you, it was the best steak ive had in a long time! The atmosphere was great and they were pretty busy! Food came out about 10 minutes and my steak was cooked to a perfect mid rare! Couldn’t have asked for service! I think our server name was Marilyn or Madeline..Anyway we had some smoked cobbler for desert..chefs kiss to that one! Definitely be back!! Are favorite spot used to be Curly Q and 1906, but this gem is way better than both!! Highly recommend Boones Bbq Barn!

My wife and I came in Saturday night. They were pretty busy and we were just about to go somewhere else because they were busy, but glad we didnt. We had the couples platter with 1/2 chicken, pork, and brisket with okra and sweet potato fries..everything was great and we had plenty of food for just the both of us!! I think it was about 30 dollars but it was well worth it. As old folk its hard to be able to get out and have a good meal even if it took us 30 minutes to get out of the car and make 9ur eay in slowly.

I did takeout and my review is as follows, from kc bbq capital of the world. I got the burnt ends, 3 rib bone , sweet potatoes casserole and beans. There was absolutely nothing special about this place other than the atmosphere in the restaurant it was amazing so I had high hopes for the order i placed, majorly disappointed, ribs were tuff and not smoked flavored at all, burnt ends were not burnt or ends at all and dry and no flavor and cut into , not joking less than half inch squares very strange. The beans were just beans nothing special, no meat pieces , just plain beans. Now the thing i was most excited and was highly talked up by cashier was the sweet potato casserole, which turned out be mashed sweet potatoes with a marshmallow crust just blah. I gave a 5 stars for the decor and 1 star for food, will not be stopping here again. Was it just a pitmaster bad day??

I really didn’t want to leave a bad review here because I had high hopes for this place. The inside is really nice and upstairs was fun. Our bartender / server was really nice. But man the food was very disappointing at least my meal was. I ordered double brisket add pulled pork with coleslaw and french fries. French fries were good but unfortunately that was it. The double side of brisket was so dry and tasteless and I had to cover it and barbecue sauce just to eat some of it. The pulled pork wasn’t any better. The coleslaw had a weird taste so I couldn’t eat it. The toast was pretty good but how do you mess up toast? We ordered jalapeno cheese bites for appetizer and that was good. I didn’t try my dates ribs but she liked them but she didn’t care for the hash brown casserole. We did get a couple of free beers with our meals so that was cool but it doesn’t make me want to go back. I did get my picture taken in the cornfield so I guess it wasn’t a total loss.

This restaurant has one of the best ambient atmospheres in Bolivar. I love the decor and am a huge fan of the overhead G scale train (the kid in me wishes it ran more often). I think the chicken wings here are the best in the city as well. Prices are right in line with everyone else. Fantastic dining!

What a let down. My in laws came in two years ago and said it was good. The food was so dry. The best thing we tried was the hash brown casserole had great flavor. The meat was such a let down, chicken dry, ribs fatty dry, and I’ve had better burnt ends than this dry ace brisket. I find it weird that you have to pay at the front, seat yourself at this restaurant and when you pay if ask for a tip but you’re getting your own drinks and PLASTIC silverware. It’s a huge area and looks beautiful. With some music and actually wait staff it could be poppen joint and might help staff actually earn tips. It was fairly empty and at 1:30pm on a weekend no mixed drinks. What a missed opportunity. I hope this place improves. The waitress seemed uninterested in taking our order but the cook thanked up for coming in that made a huge difference. We are going to try it one more time next year before writing off.

Food was great the brisket was nice and juicy, took out the wife and kids and they loved it. Such a great atmosphere and staff was super nice. Really wish we had more options like this in bolivar.
