Decatur IL’s Local Spot for Live Music, Cold Drinks & Delicious Food! Rick & Kathy Scott opened Pop’s Place in 2008 – a local bar & restaurant for music, drinks & food. When we opened Pop’s Place Food & Spirits, our goal was to bring Decatur, IL a fun, relaxed atmosphere coupled with great food and live entertainment. We love the blues and decided that every Sunday afternoon, our place would feature live blues from some of the most talented local artists. We have booked some fabulous musicians throughout the past 10 years, and we plan on continuing this tradition!

Walked in and bartender asked “what do u want”. A bottle of Bud Light was $3.50..are u kidding me is this Chicago? Went to the one stalll bathr>om and the door was unlocked. Walked in – bathroom was occupied and was told I don’t lock the doors because it’s only regulars here. Stay away from this place if u are not a “regular”. They will look at u like u are a frim a dufferent planet????

Stopped in and had the steak sandwich . So good I wished I order 2. Kitchen closes at 8 though so heads up. Nice place with tons of space to sit and relax. Live music on Saturday.

Lay out is odd for a band. Two pool tables sit in prime seating/dancing area and a door to secondary cooler opens towards the customers. Would be better if billiards area was in the other room and door opened inward.

A really good local bar and really good people and staff. Just came from Arizona , and I was made to feel welcomed the minute I stepped in the door. Food choices are huge , entertainment on the weekends. I love this place. When Toby Keith made that song I love this bar ,this is the kind of place he was singing about .
