We went with a group of six and were seated quickly on a Friday night.

The good: There are several pizzas that reflect Pella’s unique heritage. The pizza was good–a little bland–but good. Prices are very reasonable.

The not so great: Once served, we didn’t see our waitress again, we had to find someone for refills and again to order more. Some of the hard rock music seemed more for anger therapy than a family restaurant. If you like beer, choices are very limited–one local bottled beer among them.

I met my perfect pizza here, but that’s farther ahead in the review.

Greeted by the owner upon arrival at 645 on Wednesday night. The place was packed. I was seated within 5 minutes though. The place is deceptive, it look smallish until you realize it goes WAY back and around the corner and up. I was seating in the middle of the action, right outside the wait station. That was fun getting to see the wheels in motion.

Menu of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pastas, Greek specialities, and more. I enjoy having a bunch of options, yet all on a 2 sided menu. Not so many choices that I am overwhelmed.

Chose a side salad with creamy parm garlic dressing, onion rings, and a pizza with Canadian bacon, red onion, sausage, green olives. Dressing super good. Salad basic. Onion rings thick cut (I had asked and was told they were a mix of thick and thin- they were definitely thick). They were fine, I prefer thin. Pizza =WOW!!!! Best. Ever. Thin yet chewy crust, lots of toppings, just right amount of sauce and cheese. Piping hot.

Server was chatty. That’s okay. She was probably thinking a single dinner wanted the convo. The staff in general was working like a well oiled machine. I mean, they were PACKED. Owner and his family all hands on deck. Love seeing that.

My total which was easily enough for 2 or 3 people was $35. I tipped $10 cause my server really tried to engage me.

Bringing the family back for my birthday dinner!!!!

Party of 4. Three of us ordered steaks. Two medium rare and one medium. They came out cooked wrong potatoes where under cooked. Got that fixed then went to pay and the person had a attitude. Won’t go back.

Pizza was pretty good but everything else was lackluster and overpriced. Started off with a combo app of fried cauliflower, mushrooms, green beans, onion rings and cheese sticks. Came with 5 small onion rings, 2 cheese sticks, and a handfull of the rest. Definitely not worth the $18 price. The table next to us ordered fried cauliflower and their bowl had more than our entire combo. The rest of the meal didn’t get much better, the steak was cold, gyro didn’t have any flavor, and the spaghetti was bland. Let’s not overlook the $3.50 pops that come in a relatively small glass that comes with 1 refill. Not a great experience.

House pizza delicious! Rib eye steak decent for the price. Bagged salad but dressings ate all homemade the garlic Parmesan dressing is very good and good for pizza dipping. Baked potato came with literally a half stick of yellow margarine. (Butter is always better). And a squeeze pkg of sour cream. The dressing and Heinz 57 comes in little buckets. Grant was our server and he shared part of his life story with us, inspiring.

Get the pizza. It’s really good.

Our family went to Georges for dinner tonight, we were seated very quickly. Our waitress Erica was the best!! Very best service in a long time from any restaurant! The food was fresh and tasted great! Props to Erica!

I ran in here for a quick bite after arriving in Pella late evening. The pizza was legit. Nice thin crust, not overbaked, nothing weird. A solid pizza. Great service.
If you’re craving some greens though, for the love of lettuce please do not order the side salad. For 4 bucks, I was served a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with a few shredded carrots and some crackers. Do better, George!

The pizza is great. We actually got the order to go. It was ready when they said it was. The place was recommended by staff at The Peanut Pub which is across the street. If the staff isn’t busy at George’s, they will deliver it. I chose to pick it up.

We enjoyed the Olympiankos pizza. This restaurant is wonderfully located across the Klockkenspel, so we were accompanied by its lovely melody during dinner. Staff is friendly and restrooms were clean. For out-of-towners, keep your fork. Pizza is cut square style!

Not sure what happened to George’s. First, the food….Hubby said his pizza was good. I had shrimp, baked potato and salad with slice of garlic bread. The shrimp and potato were very good. Potato was nice and hot! The salad was just a bowl of limp, wilted lettuce. Ranch dressing was OK and garlic bread was dry. My brother in law had pizza and he said his was good too. My sister had lasagna, salad and garlic bread. This was the poorest excuse for lasagna I have ever seen. It was all sauce and only 2 or 3 bite size pieces of noodle in the whole bowl! Her salad was also just a bowl of limp, wilted lettuce with ranch and dry garlic bread. But to top it all off, a 12 oz bottle beer was $6.25 a bottle.
That is just outrageous! No wonder there were only 6 people in the whole place! The service was good but we probably won’t be going back any time soon!

We were there on a Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m.
