Iowa Dance Dad
Farley Family Restaurant has quickly become a favorite after a few visits, and it’s easy to see why. Mario, the chef, consistently delivers delicious meals, ranging from a classic BLT and Fish Sandwich to more indulgent options like the Ribs and Shrimp special. The onion rings are a tasty treat, and tonight’s hamburger and tenderloin sandwich were standouts.
My wife’s burger was cooked exactly to her liking—juicy and full of flavor. I opted for the Tenderloin special, which came with a cup of homemade minestrone soup. The soup was so good that my wife enjoyed it and they even sent us home with a bowl since we were the last customers of the night. As for the tenderloin, it was everything I’d hoped for and more: lightly breaded, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. It’s hands down the best tenderloin I’ve ever had.
And let’s not forget about dessert. Mario’s homemade pie crust is incredible, and we’ve made it a point to split a piece every time we’ve visited. The service is as warm and welcoming as you’d expect in a small Iowa town, and the restaurant is spotless. Farley Family Restaurant is truly a hidden gem that’s worth a visit.

We got catfished here.
The French toast was described as “Texas Toast with whipped butter and hot maple syrup”.
It turned out to be regular flat sandwich bread with a no thrills egg wash. No “whipped butter” and the “hot maple syrup” was Walmart Good Value straight from the shelf. Scrambled eggs were military grade powdered garbage.
Servers were nice at least. So there is that

Wonderful staff, chef, made me one of the best classic breakfast egg sandwiches( Oct.13). Saw the Field of Dreams movie location and needed a good breakfast to continue my long road trip. Thank you! Iowa is beautiful as are the people there too!

Cute little diner. I had a turkey melt on rye bread. Turkey was thick cut, like off a turkey breast (not just deli meat). Fries were tasty, crispy with a good coating. This was a late lunch and reason we stopped is it was the only place open, others in the area closed at 2pm. Will definitely stop again.

Food was decent, however the owner Mario is so rude to customers and his employees that I will never go back. Hours are never the same. He talks negatively about the community and hopefully will take his business elsewhere soon!
