Better Living
We just spent the weekend at Hotel Du Pont and really enjoyed stopping by The Green Room Bar & Lounge for a few drinks before bed. We’ve been to the hotel a few times, and this bar is located just before the entrance to Le Cav. It has a more intimate, laid-back vibe compared to the restaurant bar—dim lighting, candles, couches, pillows, and a cozy setup. There’s a lounge area, table seating, and a full bar that fits maybe two dozen people.
The new mixologist, Alex, is fantastic. He’s put together an entire menu of original cocktails, all worth trying. He’s traveled a lot, and you can taste those experiences in his drinks. Normally, I wouldn’t even leave a review for a hotel bar, but this one is seriously worth mentioning.
From the signature cocktail menu, we tried:
Travel Lightly – A big, island-inspired cocktail with three different Italian liqueurs and ginger beer.
Kingston Town – A smoky, fire-infused tribute to Bob Marley that was just as fun to watch as it was to drink. Alex even blends his own wood chips for smoking cocktails.
There’s also a small food menu that changes to pair with the drinks.
If you’re staying at the hotel, definitely stop in—it’s in the lobby across from the piano (no outdoor entrance). Locals are welcome too, not just hotel guests.
I know “hidden gem” gets thrown around a lot, but this place truly is one. Go check it out while Alex is running the show!
