This Sonic is a regular stop on my road trips from Charlotte NC to Grand Rapids MI and back. It is unique in that it does not have the car-hop style that Sonic is known for, but the menu is familiar for Sonic. I usually get the standard fare – a Sonic Cheeseburger, onion rings and a shake. Meets expectations!

I just ordered ultimate meat and cheese breakfast burrito and the loaded tots and it took quite a while to get my food, but I understand that sometimes it takes a little longer to make something if you’re the first person to order something that day. I was jokingly thinking to myself while eating the burrito that I should review this thing because it is absolutely delicious, but the bacon and tater tots are so hard and crispy it’s hard to eat, and then about two or three bites later I literally chipped my front tooth! I am a little upset…

I have gone through a few times since they reopened for drinks, only issue I had was the sticker shock. Today I went through to get lunch for me and my small children. Everything was rang up separately instead of converted to meals like most fast food joints would do… when I asked at the window if she could do that for me she said no because I ordered cheese on my tots. I also had a plain order of tots to share between my kids but that went unnoticed. I shrugged it off and paid the outrageous price they asked. Asked for light ice and got no ice (and a warm drink, so I dont think it just melted). When we got home and took everything out of the bags I realized how small the portion sizes are! So not only have they raised prices, they have made everything smaller! (The picture below is a small cheesy tot)
The final straw was eating the majority of my tots to find a small, dark hair in the bottom! Everybody in my house has long, blonde hair, and I dont want to think about what else it could be everything went in the trash and I ended up cooking anyway. Don’t bother going!

The food here is actually pretty great, especially compared to other Sonic locations, and the app deals give phenomenal value. However, don’t ever expect them to get your order right or include the sauces you add to your online orders, and they always forget them.

Before this location, I had never been inside a Sonic before so if that’s on your bucket list this one is for you! My friends and I ordered online and picked up at the restaurant. The quality of the food was good but the drinks were bad and the service was a little… off? Not bad, but just was a very awkward interaction. Just your typical sonic really without all the drive up options.

Ordered a southwest crunch wrap with a small onion ring and 5 piece chicken tender with pickle fries. I got 4 out 5 chicken tenders maybe the manager ate one as a “window tax”. I could’ve made my own food hotter if i set it in the refridgerator. They need to just take food off the menu and serve milkshakes.

No drive thru is safe on Stimson. I ordered a chicken bites combo. Should be chicken bites, tots (or fries), and a drink.
I got the tots, the drink, and…onion rings.
The same thing happened to me at the KFC across the street. I went home with some family’s sides but not my meal.
Moral of the story? Don’t need a quick meal on the go if you are on Stimson.

Yummy food, the drive-thru could be faster, but not if that makes the food yummy!! Staff are friendly, which adds to the experience. Yes, you would think I picked a burger, but I opted for the footlong and shared with my grandson!!!!
