This is a great small town restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Six of us ordered six different meals and we were all pleased. A great value for the money!

I used to live in CJ Iowa, and I can’t believe I’ve missed this gem of a spot in Washington. Such a welcoming place that you come in seat yourself, and if you’re unsure? People will wave ya in and tell you to sit anywhere.
I ordered the chopped steak and eggs, and everything tasted amazing! The American fries were perfect mixture of crunxh and softness. The steak patty had great flavor.
Highly recommend this place for breakfast. The waitress is an an absolute sweetheart and soft spoken, keeping everything topped off.

We were needing a mutual meeting spot for brunch, and were not disappointed! All 6 of us had different breakfast options, and all were delicious! Everything you would hope for in a small town diner atmosphere. It was definitely the local place to be on a sunday. We look forward to the next visit!

This is the ONLY restaurant in Washington, IA where I will order the hot beef sandwich. It’s the only menu item I order, not that all their other choices aren’t as good, they are! Plus with my favorite I get either a cup of soup or chili.

The Sunday before labor day, it was very busy (party because most of the other restaurants were closed). They separated some of the large group tables to make more 4 person seating.
Food was good. There are a handful of vegetarian options. I ordered the vegetable scramble (hash browns with veggies).

Not fancy food, but good food in nice portions. Restaurant was busy during our visit, yet waitress remained attentive. There’s some interesting original artwork and historical photographs in the dining room. Bathrooms appear recently updated. Great experience!

Staff Very Cheerful. Great way to start a day. Waitress Requests to refill coffee without my request first. Dirty plates gone quickly.
Food: Bacon tastes great no grease on it at all! They must bake it. Eggs over easy cooked to perfection. American Fries taste great and offered with Gravy. With Coffee and cream.

Always enjoy coming here to eat. Pictured with my review is the meatlovers skillet with 1 biscuit and gravy. One of the absolute best places to eat in Washington Iowa and at a reasonable price to boot.
