This is an amazing bakery. The people started it from Vietnam and they have an assortment of fantastic looking pastries from cakes to cookies to pies you name it. They have it for pastries. Very delicious and all all in store made. They also have a couple of chairs and tables where you can sit. They don’t have a nice cup of coffee in whatever pastry you decide to buy to start the morning off. It’s a nice place. The windows are quite large for the sunshines brightly in in the morning brighten the place up the employees at cheerful and always glad to see people come in for they can serve them I suggest this place would be a great place for a nice, custom-made birthday or anniversary or any kind of cake you decide them to make for you. If you try this place, I suggest that you would like it. I recommend it for everyone

I ordered their 8-inch Fruit Chantilly Cake for my mom’s birthday ($34.90 excluding tax), which serves about 8-10 people. The cake was so delicious! The taste was very smooth and was not overly sweet. I had pre ordered them on the phone a couple days ahead. Pricing was not bad at all considering the good quality of it. Service was nice when I picked up the cake. The inside was neat and organized as well. I also ordered an additional Mini Mocha Cake ($6.25) and Medium Fruit Tart ($5.05) during my pick up. Both desserts were tasty as well. I’ve never tried their actual savory dishes here, but I’ll gladly say that Chez Pierre is a classic spot in Metairie when it comes to Viet/French pastries and desserts

I have been coming to this chez Pierre to purchase desserts specially the Napoleon for over 10 years. It is rather pricey and I’m OK with it because it’s difficult to find this level of French pastries elsewhere.
Today, I ordered a Napoleon and it was extremely hard. I had to get a knife to cut through it. I told the lady behind the counter and she says- that’s how it’s made – however, for 10 years I’ve been going there buying it and it has never been that hard. Couldn’t even bite into it. It felt like one of these very dry dry dry crackers so I’m very upset cause I spent $47 I asked them to fix it. They didn’t. I left it on top of the table cause I really felt like their customer service was poor..that’s upsetting cause at best, My experience has always been that restaurants try to fix the problem. I will be the last time that they see me there. I hope the owner reads because this will definitely drive customers away

I enjoyed the real food that is made fresh/made to order, but I do not like their cakes and pastries. I feel like it’s hard to get fresh pastries and desserts from here, but the bread I have had no issues getting freshly baked. Over the years I feel like quality has declined, and it’s more accurate to call it a French styled or inspired bakery since the owner is not someone classically trained in French cuisine

Cakes are okay, just plain. Maybe by fridge were ai dry, and they weren’t fresh. The coffee was so good, but the ambiance small bad, and I wanted to eat and run away. I’m not sure if I’ll get back.

I’ve noticed that the name is French but is a Vietnamese restaurant- that confuses me.

One of our work vendors brought a cake from this bakery for my birthday, not sure of the name but it was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had!

The cake inside was chocolate, perfectly balanced not too sweet and the texture was amazing. It had slices of strawberries and icing in between the layers. The icing on the outer part was like a chocolate mousse and then topped white chocolate covered strawberries.

Absolutely AMAZING job, one of the best cakes I’ve ever had!

I came in today to get a fruit cake for my mom and dad’s birthday. The only fruit cake available on display were the really large sized ones so I asked the worker if there was anything smaller and she said that there was. She rang up the cake with only strawberries on top. I asked her if that was the fruit cake just to be sure and she said it was. This is my first time buying cake here since my parents are usually the one to buy it, so I bought it and went home.
We just cut up the cake and it was just strawberry only. This was probably just some miscommunication since strawberry is a fruit but I was looking to get the cake that had a variety of fruits on it. I thought the strawberry cake would be called strawberry cake and the variety cake would just be called a fruit cake but I guess not? I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t read the names of the cake so idk what they’re called in store lol
Overall the strawberry cake looked great and the taste was decent (just a bit dry), but we would’ve enjoyed the fruit one more. I’d still come again but would make sure that I’m clear with what I’m looking for next time I’m there

Great, warm service. Ordered several items and each one delicious! Thank you Chez Pierre. The coconut chantilly cake tasted like our paradise guava cake from back home. Great place and clean.

Extremely disappointing and not authentic French pastries

Visited Chez Pierre French Bakery & Café on Sat, Nov 8, 2025 at 5:50 PM (Order #34).
Address: 3208 Clearview Pkwy, Metairie, LA 70006.
Items: Mini Linzer Torte (x2), Almond Ganache, Medium Fruit Tart, Regular Napoleon. Total: $23.13.

Every item tasted stale and poorly made. The Napoleon was soggy and bland—nothing like the crisp layered pastry it should be—and went straight into the trash. The fruit tart and linzer tortes were dry, and the almond ganache lacked freshness and flavor.

If you’re going to call your bakery French, at least have a chef trained in classic French pastry techniques preparing the pastries. I’m surprised by the high rating given this experience. Won’t return
