I got the mahi fish sandwich and the kids got the burger kids meal. It was pretty good. The fries were very good. The mahi sandwich was good it was just pretty wet so the bun was a pile of mush by the time I ate it. Very good flavor though. The staff was super friendly and polite. I would definitely visit again

We chose to eat here based on their amazing reviews and the variety on the menu. We got there as soon as they opened and was greeted immediately by the attentive staff. They were patient while we looked over the menu to decide what we wanted.
I went with the special, which was the “Not so Cajun shrimp” over rice with a green beans. I’m so glad I did because it did not disappoint! It was loaded with flavor from the sauce to the rice to the green beans.

Came here for dinner with some friends. Their fried chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and perfectly tender and juicy. Their bacon cheese fries were a very generous portion so plan on sharing them! The staff was extremely friendly and patient as we didn’t realize they closed 15 minutes after we arrived. They did not rush us and gave us plenty of time!

This is a nice little grill at the end of a very busy (in the summer) strip mall. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food comes out piping hot. Our burgers, hotdog, and chicken sandwich were all dandy. You can substitute fried chicken for any burger, which I did, and it was one of the best I have ever had.
Fountain drinks include pink lemonade and Cheerwine, among others. You order at the end of the bar; there is very limited seating both inside and out. You can get a great meal here while not having to spend $30 per person, which is a bonus.

Ok, probably the most honest review you will get. Food: Surf city burger was excellent, chicken tenders were good, the bird hot dog disgusting, plane hot dog disgusting and the chicken dip was gross. Service: 5 employees and nobody asked to take our orders, and a person at the bar pointed us in the right direction. I guess they want to stand around and talk instead of doing their jobs. Everything is self serve nobody waits on you. Atmosphere: it stunk, but the outside sitting was nice. Family of 4 with 1 appetizer $82, and then my wife left a $10 for them to do absolutely nothing. We’ve been coming to topsail for 3 years now and decided to give it a try… Won’t be back.

I would have given them 5 but you have to mention the kids menu discount or they will charge you full price. This is a Wednesdays special but it is not advertised. I am doing it here for potential future Wednesday patrons of this establishment.

This welcoming restaurant has left the best impression. This was our first time here and they did not disappoint. The owner and staff were super friendly. The food is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. My husband and I shared the 10 wing basket. We had them prepared half Sweet BBQ and Honey Sriracha, super tasty. We both got the blackened Mahi Tacos with fries and a drink. You get two tacos. I definitely could have ate another – they were mouthwatering. I highly recommend giving them a try. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely be back.

Surf Dogs was once a great place for a good meal. Seems it does not have its former glory. Fried Chicken sandwich was marginal, with wilted lettuce and tomato that probably should not have been served, strike one. The slaw like came out of a large commercial tub and was a finely minced mush- strike two. The waiter barely greeted us, no personality and did not even say thank you. Strike three…ya’ll are out. There are many choices both on and off the island, and the list just got smaller – recommendation – don’t bother.
