Nice atmosphere and our waitress was phenomenal. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were strong and very decent amount. The meals have a great portion and everything is absolutely well worth the price. My family of 5 look forward to returning to this establishment

Some really great pizza options here. We did a white buffalo which was excellent and a zorro which was almost perfect. Zorro had a fantastic combination of flavors on it. The only thing I wish would have been different was the description said there were burnt ends on the pizza. There was what seemed to be sliced brisket (which was really good) but instead of burnt ends it seemed like pork belly (mostly fatty/under done pieces) which we basically had to just take off. It was spot on otherwise. We also did the Cesar fries which were also a big hit. Would definitely repeat everything but hoping for some clarity on if we just had the wrong topping or if I don’t understand what burnt ends actually are (but I don’t think this is the case)

I was honestly really disappointed in this place. The reviews are generally solid, but it fell pretty short. When we got sat, our waiter didn’t tell us that you get garlic knots as free table bread before asking us if we wanted some, which then meant we got extra knots on top of the free ones for an additional charge. The knots had decent enough flavor, but for how large they were, they were very hard. Additionally the portions for the entrees are obnoxious (like 2-3 people could probably split one entree and be satisfied), which would honestly be fine if it actually tasted good. I would rather pay the same price for slightly less actually good food than a whole lot of very mediocre to just bad food. The alfredo was fine, probably needed salt but overall decent. However, both of the red sauce dishes were tragic. The spaghetti sauce was almost flavorless and the noodles were unsalted, so the whole thing was just like watered-down tomato noodles. The baked pasta was slightly better, but still suffered the same issues. Lastly, the meatball on the spaghetti was the worst thing of the whole dinner–it tasted like ground up leather belt. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place over other Italian joints in the area, it’s just not worth it.

Edit: To the owner, or whoever replies to these,

I have read your response to my review, as well as others, and what, are you five? Anytime someone says something on here that you disagree with, you come up with some strawman about why they are wrong, why their opinion is invalid, or why they have no idea what they are talking about. That’s so juvenile. My father is a professionally trained chef with a specialty in Italian cuisine, and I am well aware of what good food tastes like. I grew up eating it.

Just because someone dislikes something about your restaurant doesn’t mean that they are inherently wrong, you just don’t know how to accept criticism in any way, shape, or form. Do better.

Great food, excellent service.

This a restaurant I had made note of for a potential dinner stop on our two night weekend trip in Boone. But I admit that the night we ate here it was our 3rd stop, because everywhere we went was super busy. The hostess here was very nice and said sorry its a 45 min wait, but we didn’t want to try anywhere else. So we put our name and number down and shopped at Walmart.

We had garlic knots, kids pasta, chicken cacciatore, caesar salad, stuffed cabbage soup, and linguine carbonara. The serving sizes are exceptional, and everything represented a good example of American style italian. I dont mind that the ambiance or decor is nothing special, because you will leave fully satisfied with leftovers.

We had a large family group tonight and the food was great. The portions are gigantic so be prepared for plenty of leftovers.

Great service too.

We had a party of four. Our server was warm, personable and attentive. We ordered a calzone, chicken parmigiana, lasagna with meat sauce and buffalo chicken wings. Everything was delicious. Portion sizes are large – we had 4 to go boxes (leftovers yay!). The bread was yummy too! Highly recommend and we will be sure to return when in town again. Thank you!

I have only eaten here for lunch, so I can’t speak to dinner options, but the lunch is amazing. Specifically, the lunch pasta specials (pasta, garlic knots, and soup or salad) are tasty and of great value. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable.

I recommend the lasagna. The star of the show, in opinion, are the garlic knots. I’m generally not a big garlic knot fan, but these are large, soft, and flavorful. Delicious!

The service is also very good and the atmosphere is cozy.

Overall, I highly recommend Bocca Bistro, especially for lunch.

We are leaving a 3-star review primarily due to a lack of communication from the staff. It felt as though the importance of customer service and overall experience was overlooked during our visit.

This was our first time dining here, and we came as a family of five. No one informed us that the portion sizes were extremely large, so we ordered assuming standard portions and ended up ordering far more food than necessary. While the pasta and soup were very good, the pizza we ordered was far too spicy for both adults and children.

When we mentioned this and asked if the pizza could be removed or adjusted, someone approached us who did not introduce themselves and stated that the pizza was meant to be spicy because it was labeled “hot honey.” We did not realize that this description would indicate such a high level of spiciness, especially since honey is typically associated with sweetness rather than heat. To their credit, the restaurant did agree to replace the pizza so we could at least take home something edible. However, it was replaced with a medium pizza even though we had paid for an extra-large. (We did not take the pizza that was too spicy as it was not something our kids could eat or us) .

Additionally, we were not informed that bread was complimentary, which again comes back to communication. Overall, the food quality was good, but clearer explanations about portion sizes that it could be shareable so we wouldn’t order too much of pasta but instead try something else, menu items, and inclusions would have made a big difference in our experience.
We simply wish there had been better communication throughout our visit and hope this feedback is helpful.
P.S we did read the menu I never said I wasn’t expecting side.. I said the pasta comes in giant bowl that could be shared with others and wish that would’ve been clarified and mentioned by the staff so people wouldn’t order many items thinking it’s regular size .. just trying to help other families who will dine in in this place so they won’t make the same mistake.

January 2026 Update. No change. Delicious. Consistently delicious year over year. Huge portions. Perfect to carb up night before hitting the slopes next day AND you’ll have leftovers to refuel after a full day on the slopes. Molte grazie Bocca Bistro!!

January 2025: Took the family for dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find this diamond in the rough (i.e. in a strip mall). Authentic Italian American fare and service. If you’re in a rush then let your server know. Otherwise, expect an Italian dinner experience where you come, you sit, you talk, and you enjoy the company you’re with and the venue you’re in. The owner / chef might pass by to say hello and check in on you as well. See comments in the pics but the food was delicious, the portions ridiculously huge that each plate had a take home box. Price is quite fair for the large portions. Friendly atmosphere and service. This is in my favorites for the next time we visit Boone. And if you’re a Bills fan you’ll be right at home.

I ordered a takeout during my ski trip to the area. I got Parmigiana and Manhattan pizza. Parmigiana was terrible. They put very little sauce, so we pretty much ate dried pasta. The chicken was so dry and tough. I don’t understand how that has become their staple dish. Pizza was ok but I’ve had better. This place was busy reservation only which made me scratching my head. Overall, I don’t recommend this place.
