Walked in and my first impression was that the place is small but cozy, very pretty, and has a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly, but she didn’t really check on us after taking our order. We had two beers and would’ve ordered more if she had come back. On a positive note, the bread she brought out was delicious.
We started with the calamari, which unfortunately were bland, overcooked, and chewy. The sauce served with them was just spicy without much flavor. For mains, the vodka pasta tasted more like mac & cheese—no trace of vodka sauce flavor, though the pasta itself was cooked perfectly. The eggplant pasta was okay, but not great. The eggplant was supposed to be crispy, but since it was smothered in sauce top and bottom, it turned soggy, and the pasta was overcooked.
Overall, I’d consider giving it another shot because the space is so charming—maybe it was just an off day.
I had the pleasure of dining at Mío Nonno, and I must say, it was a spectacular experience. From the first course to dessert, every detail showcased the passion and quality poured into their dishes. I tried the crème brûlée, and it was simply divine. The creamy texture, the perfect balance of sweetness, and that delicate caramelized crust that cracks like a whisper… a true masterpiece!
The cozy atmosphere and impeccable service perfectly complemented the amazing food. This is the kind of place that invites you to stay, enjoy, and savor every moment. If you’re looking for an Italian restaurant that truly stands out, Mío Nonno is an absolute must-visit.
I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!
What I didn’t like was the service. This place needs to work on server attentiveness and overall having a welcoming attitude. As soon as I walked in with my husband, a waitress who was passing by sighed at just seeing us and there was no greeter or anyone at the booth so we just stood there for a few minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Keep in mind that we came in at 6, nowhere near closing time. Another thing was once we were seated, although the waiter was nice, he never checked up on our table and we ran out of our soft drinks before we even got our bread and olive oil. We never got refills until after we received the pasta and it was only after having to get his attention to please give us more water once giving us the food.
I wouldn’t have bothered writing a review however, me and my family regularly visit this establishment and every time we visit, regardless of the waiter we have, they are always inattentive and never give refills. It’s a relatively small thing, especially with the food being so good but a good waiter/ waitress is a crucial part to any restaurant.
