I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Breakfast Factory in the Brea Mall food court, and let me tell you, it was a very tasty experience! While they offer some mouthwatering breakfast burritos that caught my eye, I decided to try their smash burger menu this time.
I went for the double cheeseburger smash burger combo, which came with a generous portion of crispy fries and a drink that had free refills—always a plus! The burger was a true standout, featuring their house sauce that reminded me of a delicious Thousand Island dressing, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
I was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast offerings and other menu items. If you’re in the area and looking for a satisfying meal, The Breakfast Factory is definitely worth a visit! Five stars all the way!
It was a hit with kids. Tasted fresh although it was kept frozen. The “candy” aspect is a glazed typical what you would encounter with creme brulee.
A bit on the pricey side but a novelty worth a try.
The dining area has plenty of seating however on the weekends it is a challenge to find a spot.
What I Ordered:
• Cheeseburger ($8.27) – The menu screen said $7.99, but when I got my receipt, it was $8.27. That’s not tax—it’s just them charging more than what they advertise. The burger itself was fine, nothing special. Standard toppings: house sauce, pickles, lettuce, diced onions. I also asked for it to be cut in half, which they did. But honestly, after seeing the price difference, I was already annoyed.
• Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger ($12.41) – It was decent, had the right toppings, and tasted okay, but for over $12? Definitely not worth it.
• Fries ($4.13) – Regular fries, nothing crazy. Crispy but overpriced for what you get.
The pricing here is shady. If the screen says $7.99, why am I being charged $8.27? It’s not a huge difference, but that’s not the point. It’s the principle if you advertise a price, you should honor it. It just feels sneaky, and it’s really disrespectful to customers.
Final Thoughts:
I don’t like feeling like I’m being scammed, and that’s exactly how this felt. The food was not good enough for me to just ignore the pricing issue. If they’re doing this with one item, who knows how many other things are priced wrong? Won’t be coming back unless they fix this.
Thanks so much. Will certainly be back in the next few days as I can walk from the Hilton Brea! 🙂
Burrito was a good size so no complaints. Would return to try other things.
