The Breakfast Factory at the Brea Mall ⬅️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Breakfast Factory in the Brea Mall food court, and let me tell you, it was a very tasty experience! While they offer some mouthwatering breakfast burritos that caught my eye, I decided to try their smash burger menu this time.

I went for the double cheeseburger smash burger combo, which came with a generous portion of crispy fries and a drink that had free refills—always a plus! The burger was a true standout, featuring their house sauce that reminded me of a delicious Thousand Island dressing, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.

I was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast offerings and other menu items. If you’re in the area and looking for a satisfying meal, The Breakfast Factory is definitely worth a visit! Five stars all the way!

To pay $9.69 for the bagel breakfast sandwich is bad enough but rude person taking the order and he should be much better at the prices they charge. No water cups so no water. I expect better but it’s in a dead mall

We tried this candy/fresh fruit item.

It was a hit with kids. Tasted fresh although it was kept frozen. The “candy” aspect is a glazed typical what you would encounter with creme brulee.

A bit on the pricey side but a novelty worth a try.

The dining area has plenty of seating however on the weekends it is a challenge to find a spot.

I came here for the first time expecting a decent meal, but honestly, I left feeling pretty disappointed. The food itself was okay, but the way they handle their pricing is just disrespectful and feels like false advertising.

What I Ordered:
• Cheeseburger ($8.27) – The menu screen said $7.99, but when I got my receipt, it was $8.27. That’s not tax—it’s just them charging more than what they advertise. The burger itself was fine, nothing special. Standard toppings: house sauce, pickles, lettuce, diced onions. I also asked for it to be cut in half, which they did. But honestly, after seeing the price difference, I was already annoyed.
• Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger ($12.41) – It was decent, had the right toppings, and tasted okay, but for over $12? Definitely not worth it.
• Fries ($4.13) – Regular fries, nothing crazy. Crispy but overpriced for what you get.

The pricing here is shady. If the screen says $7.99, why am I being charged $8.27? It’s not a huge difference, but that’s not the point. It’s the principle if you advertise a price, you should honor it. It just feels sneaky, and it’s really disrespectful to customers.

Final Thoughts:

I don’t like feeling like I’m being scammed, and that’s exactly how this felt. The food was not good enough for me to just ignore the pricing issue. If they’re doing this with one item, who knows how many other things are priced wrong? Won’t be coming back unless they fix this.

After ~24 hours of travel and flights my family wanted to go to a burger place for a quick dinner before sleep. We were tired and arguing, ready to throw in the towel, but The Breakfast Factory delivered! Double cheese burgers, the loaded fries, delicious. This feels like it saved my marriage, my children still love me, and the holiday is off to a good start all due to the service and food here!
Thanks so much. Will certainly be back in the next few days as I can walk from the Hilton Brea! 🙂

Made to order, it was good. Came on a Monday afternoon so didn’t wait very long at all. A little steep for the price but I left full and happy.
Burrito was a good size so no complaints. Would return to try other things.

Delicious breakfast burrito. Nowhere near enough salsa and a dollar for a little half filled cup of salsa is crazy. If you didn’t try to cheap out on that essential part, this place would be great.

Really good breakfast burritos! Nice portion as well and I was only able to finish half. Staff were really friendly. Quality of the food was amazing. You can watch them make your food. So it’s not premade and quick like fast food, which is a plus.

This place made me hate tater tots. I love breakfast food and I will give any place that caters to that niche food a shot. I was disappointed. The cheese sandwich was okay but the tater tots it was a jammed-up compact mess of onion, bacon bits, smooshy potatos, sauce, and the fried egg was odd. Like it was a first that the yolk and egg white were grossly runny. The whole thing was inedible and the money I paid for the meal no way justifies what I got. The only slight redeeming thing was maybe the cold coffee but really it’s black coffee iced.

Ordered the triple smash burger, it was great . This place did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed my smash burger. Great value for the taste and price for a mall’s food court.
