I only eat #2 here. Huge portion, taste better than other shop in Oakland, good price when paying cash. However there are some Downsides:
1) the neighbourhood is scary, lots of trash & homeless problems in the back streets. In front of the shop is filled with garbage & dirty. This location is worst for parking as well. Watch out for your cars.
2) the male cashier (owner) is rude & looks down on customers.

I came early in the morning at 7:30am after work no customer then when customer come i feel like they start to rush my order for my sandwich’s … Maybe because i was eating my eggroll, when my egg rolls and soy milks that came first and didn’t pack it in the plastic bag for me he gave me plastic for me separately …Between the egg roll didn’t taste so good compare to Cam huong restaurant near on international and 7th ave…The cashier man that walk not normal looks at me so judgmental because he looking at me up and down… Anyway parking lot is horrible not so smooth in the back…No respect, no business… Especially you only open three days… Stay humble…Customer is number 1 not your cash!

PERFECT BANH MI

Hands down, the best banh mi I’ve ever had—period. The kind of sandwich that makes you shut up mid-bite because your brain needs all available resources to process what’s happening. Usually, when something’s this cheap, you brace yourself for “good for the price.” Not here. This place laughs in the face of your low expectations and then blows past them.

Ambiance? Family-run, Vietnamese chatter flying back and forth, and I swear they could’ve been talking smack about me the entire time. Hell, they could talk about my mother for all I care—this sandwich is worth it. The shop is spotless, the kind of clean you only get from people who actually give a damn.

And the price? $6 for a grilled pork banh mi that could hold its own anywhere in the world. Add a mango smoothie and a guava drink and you’re still walking out at $14. In the Bay. That’s robbery in reverse.

Eat here once and you’ll spend the rest of your life comparing every other banh mi to it—and watching them fall short.

I got the special combo ham sandwich without cilantro and jalapeno – but I found a jalapeno in my sandwich. My partner also found jalapeno in #20 grilled pork with lemon grass even it was ordered with no jalapeno. Beside that complaint, the banh mi was really good! The bread is soft and crunchy without hurting the roof of our mouth and it’s fully stuffed with the meats and veggies while being affordable!

Although the inside of the shop is clean and organized, the streets is seemingly sketchy and dirty looking so be cautious. It might be hard to find parking.

Otherwise, it’s worth to stop by to try!

Loved the ham and meatball with egg. Bread was super crunchy and soft all at the same time. Sandwich was cheap, full of flavor, and delicious. Also got the shredded pork which was just meh and the shrimp app which was different. The Vietnamese coffee is not overly sweet and liked it a lot. The area is about what you would expect, but it was fine going mid day. Place was busy, but the line moves quick and there was plenty of street parking at 1pm on a Friday right out front. Egg with meatball was not a combo I was expecting, but the 2 flavors we’re delicious together. Would return. Cash and credit card accepted (3.9% fee for credit).

Hands down, the Cold Cut Ham Combo Banh Mi here is next-level amazing! Every bite bursts with flavor — the meats are perfectly seasoned, the pickled vegetables are tangy and fresh, and the baguette is crisp and just the right texture. The head cheese and pate are absolute standouts.
Portions are generous, leaving you more than satisfied, and the price is incredibly fair — especially when you compare it to spots like Huong Long and Duc Huong. If you’re craving a banh mi that’s packed with flavor, big on value, and loaded with thoughtful ingredients, this is the one to get!

I ordered 5 sandwiches from there because I’ve heard great things about this Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered #2 (special ham combo), #5 (meatball sandwich), #8 (grilled pork sandwich), #13 (meatballs and egg sandwich), #9 (BBQ chicken sandwich).

Initially I wanted #18 (grilled chicken sandwich) but they didn’t have it at the time so they suggested #9. The sandwiches were great but the #8 was a bit dry, they needed to add a bit more sauce. Can’t beat the prices though!

3 stars, because I never give 5 stars. Deducted a star due to the fact that they do not take phone orders. There were a few large orders while I was standing in line. One of the large order was (17) #2’s & (10) #7’s!
In any event, we ordered the #13 (Meatball w/Eggs) & #18 (Grilled Chicken). Both sandwiches were good, but nothing “popped” out to make them “different” from other Banh Mi restaurants. I would drop by again, but earlier next time. The selections on pre-made food was non-existent at around 1:30pm.

Best Banh mi ever. The line was so long but the service was fast. $5.50 per sandwich. Other food was good too. There is a parking lot behind the building in case you cannot find parking. They do have an updated hours. They open from Sunday to Friday from 7:30 to 3ish pm. After couple months, I finally came again and they are still as good as before.

Update: the good food is no longer worth the long lines and rudeness. We called ahead and it was obvious that didn’t help at all. Also, early afternoon on a Sunday, a bunch of stuff was already out, and they seemed uninterested when asking if they were making more. Add the risk of getting car broken into in that neighborhood, I can’t blindly recommend this place like I previously did.

Food is almost always good but the service, line, and parking can be hit or miss.

We always get a few sandwiches, grab a random tray from the counter and maybe an iced Vietnamese coffee, and always enjoy them. Grilled chicken (#18) and meatball with egg (#13) are our go-to’s.

Parking can be a pain, even with the lot in the back, and the neighborhood is sketch, and like the rest of the city, getting worse by the day. The service is normally good but they seem to get occasionally annoyed if you ask questions.

What bugs me is there aren’t prices for anything posted, besides the sandwiches, and those seem to be one of those things that annoy them when you ask.

Either way, still good prices for great banh mi’s and highly recommend you try if you haven’t before.
