Seated outdoor with some live music performance. Food was alright , nothing amazing but huge portion.
But Ritz – why do you charge me a 9% entertainment fee for a show that I didn’t ask for?

We came for our honeymoon and our host, Mohammed Mido, made our experience unforgettable. The first night we told him it was our honeymoon at the table and he invited us to learn to make the food we loved in the kitchen. We could not stay but had such an amazing experience that we returned the next night to find a table decorated with flower petals and our initials! We were invited into the kitchen to learn how to make the food! Not only is the food amazing and the entertainment and atmosphere awesome, but the service is incredible. We would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of dining at Bab El-Sharq inside The Nile Ritz-Carlton, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.

The food is absolutely delicious — full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Everything from the fresh mezze to the main dishes was prepared with great care, and you can really taste the quality.

At night, the atmosphere becomes magical with live entertainment: traditional Egyptian folklore dance, music, and even a belly dance performance that made the evening unforgettable. It’s not just a meal, it’s a cultural experience!

The service was also excellent — attentive, welcoming, and professional throughout the evening.

If you’re staying at the hotel (or even if you’re not), I highly recommend Bab El-Sharq for both the amazing food and the unique entertainment. A wonderful taste of Egyptian hospitality and tradition.

We ordered, waited for an hour, and they asked us to re-order because they lost the first one. First time that’s ever happened to us. A shambles, but the live music was really good while we waited. But then the food came and it was just great. Followed by some nice shisha.

The konafa was very delicious. Service excellent. Shisha was very good. Entertainment was good. They need air conditioning for the hot weather in the open air. Waiters are super nice.

Food was excellent and relatively inexpensive for a restaurant in a 5 star hotel. The restaurant manager, Sabri has been very friendly and helpful in every way. We were given some free cookies on our way out. No minimum charge per person (unlike what I read on other reviews but perhaps it’s because we went before their nightly show begun)

A wonderful experience at this outdoor restaurant with entertainment including belly dancing, singing and skilled traditional Egyptian dancers. Service is excellent and staff are friendly. We enjoyed an array of dishes with the highlight being the fatteh eggplant and fattoush salad. The produce is fresh and portion sizes are generous. There are plenty of drink options included fresh juices. The restaurant also has a huge screen playing football as well as shisha which creates a fun and authentic experience. Definitely on the pricier side but we enjoyed our meal and time here. Highly recommend when visiting Cairo

The only good thing about this place was the atmosphere, everything else is not worth the money. Starting with how horrible the customer service is at this restaurant. I would have imagined that a restaurant at a prestigious hotel like the ritz Carlton would aim to provide a service that went above and beyond but that is far far from the case. The waiters don’t seem to care to provide good customer service. I had to flag the waiter to just put my order in because they had forgotten about us, and it wasn’t because they were busy he was just on his cell phone. Then, when I told the server to come back to take my drink order he never came back. Appetizers came and I had nothing to eat my meal with. The server was no where to be found. We wanted to make an order for a main meal and again no server. Eventually I had to ask for the manager to come and help out which they sent the assistant manager. It did help get things going a bit but by this point I was already upset. They gave us a dessert, without asking if we wanted one, as a way to make things better but honestly by this point I just wanted to go back to my room to sleep.

I would say considering the amount of money we spent the food was just okay. Again, I imagined better.

The only thing this place has going for it is the evening shows and entertainment, but once the bad service and mid food comes in you’ll likely start to forget about it. Not sure I would come back.

Having visited the Nile Ritz-Carlton three times over the past 8 months, I can say this restaurant remains a top favourite and must do on my list. The sensational quality of cuisine was validated by the locals I’ve invited to join me. The staff are more than attentive and welcome me with familiarity and a sense of belonging. Not always an easy accomplishment to tourists. Service is impeccable and I’ll offer a well deserved thank you to the management and staff including Ahmed and Gamal for making my visit sensational! The live entertainment is world class with local musicians and dancers to entertain you into the night. You MUST come hungry and enjoy all that this wonderful paradise has to offer!
