What a fabulous place to spend my birthday. The scenery from the Hope Gardens is stunning, and the restaurant has an outside inside feel. The dukebox plays music softly and you have the sound of the water in the background. Food was delicious you can tell it’s cooked with love and care. The fish was delicious! And definitely order the brownie and a lemongrass drink.
Fantastic service!!

12,000 Jamaican dollars for 3 drinks and 2 main courses, plus slowest service in Jamaica. The people serving seemed very lovely, but it’s clearly a show and the plan is to rip off the people who are not regulars or locals. Very sad 🙁
In any case, the food was nothing special.

My husband and I went here for a quick dinner and were treated with lots of respect and love. Served by the owner who had us laughing. I highly recommend their lemongrass iced tea …

Stumbled on this really nice restaurant on trip to Hope Gardens with relatives. Amazing ambiance and tastefully decorated. Didn’t eat but had delicious chicken soup. Met the very engaging owner and will certainly return for brunch, quiet evening (the setting is perfect for couples, or small group etc.). Look them up!

Absolutely delightful lunch set amongst the green of the botanical garden. Everything was delicious and we felt so well looked after by our charming host David. Must stop by when in Kingston 🙂

Today is Mother’s Day, and I’m extremely upset about how we were treated at Pages in the Garden. The owner judged us based on our appearance simply because we weren’t dressed formally. She spoke to us with disrespect and made assumptions without knowing who we were or why we were there.
My friends and I had visited two weeks ago and mentioned the service was very slow, the food wasn’t great, and several menu items weren’t even available. Despite that, we gave the place a chance—only to be met with poor treatment and a judgmental attitude.
The restaurant feels outdated, and sadly, the experience left a bitter taste. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

After a lovely day at the beach, my family and I decided to celebrate Mother’s Day at Pages in the Garden at Hope Gardens. I had visited two weeks prior and thought it would be a great place to bring my family, some of whom hadn’t been to Hope Gardens in over 15 years.
Though we were modestly dressed after coming from the beach, we were excited to dine. Unfortunately, we were immediately judged for our appearance. A woman who appeared to be the owner (dark-skinned, natural curly hair) questioned if we were dining, and despite my mother saying yes, she later accused her of lying and told us we couldn’t park there.
We hadn’t known reservations were required, but our intent was genuine—we just wanted to enjoy a meal together. The way we were spoken to was rude and dismissive. What was meant to be a special family moment turned into an embarrassing experience.
Sadly, we won’t be returning or recommending this place. No one deserves to be treated that way.

After visiting Hope Gardens today, my twin sister and I were excited to try Pages in the Garden, a place our niece recommended. We hadn’t been to the area in years and wanted to walk around a bit before dining, especially since the restaurant looked quite full.
To our shock, a woman who seemed to be the owner accused my sister of lying about our intent to dine. She even said we didn’t “look like someone who would be dining” there—simply because we weren’t dressed as formally as the others. It was hurtful and deeply disrespectful.
We were planning to recommend this place to family flying in tomorrow, but after today’s experience, we will never return or support this business. No one deserves to be judged and spoken to like that.

If you eat in one place in Kingston make it here. Beautiful location and some of the best food we have had in the Caribbean. But David the manager topped it all. He was an absolute pleasure to chat to with lots of stories about his life and that of his family. We even chatted to his Cousin Roy who lives near our home town in the UK.
