First time checking out Pa’l Mar in St. Paul and it did not disappoint. The vibe had that lowkey “this food bout to be fire” energy , and it was exactly that. Even though I came early in the afternoon and the place wasn’t packed yet, the atmosphere was still welcoming, with a “come as you are” kinda feel.
The staff? Super friendly and laid-back. You could tell they love what they do, and it makes all the difference. I ordered a large margarita and listen, it was hitting! Strong, fresh, flavorful.. one large is truly all you need.
For food, I went with the chimichangas, and they were everything. Crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside 10/10, no notes.
Definitely planning to come back, maybe during a livelier hour to see it in full swing. But even on a quiet afternoon, this place left a solid impression. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Hey there! Just tried this new restaurant and their BIRRIA TACOS are incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned. You’ve got to try them! The combo comes with FAIR PRICES, check it out on their MENU SECTION!! I made exactly one order of three Birria Tacos with everything and they come on with a combo of chips and all sauces for everything.

Enjoyed the chicken enchiladas and queso Blanco cheese dip w/ chips. The 2 for 1 margarita was shared with a friend, tasted GREAT, BUT we ordered a 2nd margarita and Way Too Much Mango mix was added, we paid for it, but left it behind to avoid reuning a good lunch. My friends beef Chimi was nothing like the flavorful chicken used in the enchiladas, bummer! GREAT SERVICE and SO CLEAN!!! Exterior signage could use some improvement for business.

Quite possibly the worst food I’ve ever eaten. Service was almost as bad as the food. This place won’t be open much longer if they keep it up. We were asked for food by a vagrant who wandered inside before our food even arrived. Half the food was cold, the listed sides were not brought, and they were somehow out of margaritas? I’m awaiting the impending food poisoning. This is for Los Unicos 2, which seems to have taken over Pa’l Mal.

This place does not deserve to be in business.
Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Out of Margaritas. Didn’t get the beers we ordered, no napkins, server didn’t understand any English, didn’t get the food we ordered, none of the correct ingredients. All the food was cold, the cheese dip was even cold. This place has no idea what they were doing and should not have their doors open. Now anxiously waiting the impending food poisoning because that seems in line. That type of establishment.

Saw perico passed around and guys staring hard at you. The MAIN thing, the food had No seasoning in the aguachile or shrimp cocktail. They charge you 3.00 dollars for a side of guac y 2.00 for salsa! Do not recommend ONLY for tacos Y micheladas!!
