We’ve tried to really love Bollocks several times now.. being new to the area, this place seems like a great spot for locals to gather. Unfortunately, each time we’ve come here we’ve been met with terrible (entirely absent) service, and watched wait staff cater to tables of patrons that they clearly have a relationship with, leaving people like us, trying to find a new watering hole in our neighborhood, feeling completely ignored each time.

At our most recent visit, we planned to/let our server know our intention to order dinner, but our server didn’t return to our table to take our order, after she delivered our drinks. We had to walk up to the bar to ask for our first drink order, which was met with a very rude response. We had also ordered an app, and had to seek our server out for cutlery and plates. Keep in mind, this experience was at 4pm, not nearly close to peak hours. There were only two tables seated in the bar area at the time.

The service on our last couple of visits has been rude, dismissive and made us feel like a complete inconvenience to all staff. The servers all seem genuinely unhappy, which could be because of working conditions or management, but leaves for an awful customer experience.

From past visits, the food is solid and drinks are fine .. beer was quite flat once, but be prepared to feel completely ignored and wait an exceptionally long time to be noticed by staff from the moment you walk through the front door. When you’re getting ready to leave, wait staff will quickly approach to give you your bill. Unfortunately, we won’t be back ✌️

I come to Bollocks Pub & Kitchen often because the food is genuinely great. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently terrible, and Sunday afternoon was the final straw.

We waited over 20 minutes before our server bothered to check on us. When she finally brought the drinks, she didn’t ask if we were ready to order food, despite us clearly sitting there with menus open. I assumed she walked away to grab a paper and pen. After watching another table get up to find their server, I had to do the same so we could place our order. We were met with eye rolls and huffs, as if asking to be served was an inconvenience.

When our food was eventually delivered waters for half the table were forgotten, and once again we had to go looking for her. That pattern continued throughout the visit. We repeatedly had to get up and search for staff just to get basic things like drinks, napkins, and cutlery, and each time it felt like we were bothering them.

When it came time to leave, we had to flag her down just to ask for the bill. After asking for it, we then waited another 20+ minutes before it finally came.

It felt disorganized, inattentive, and completely indifferent. And this wasn’t one overwhelmed server having an off day. It was both servers working and it was not the first time I’ve experienced this there. The food deserves better than the front-of-house experience we received.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in Oshawa.

Upon entering, a friend and I waited at the front to be seated. The bartender made direct eye contact with us and chose to wipe down the bar instead of acknowledging or welcoming us. We stood there for a while to give her the chance, but no one came over. I eventually approached the bar myself to ask if we seat ourselves, and she said yes. When I asked for menus, I was told “someone will be with you.” (As if it wasn’t going to be her helping us.)

We sat down — and we were the only table in the seating area. It took about 10 minutes just for menus to arrive. We mentioned that two more friends would be joining us, yet only two menus were brought. We ordered drinks for ourselves and for the friends who were on their way.

Our friends arrived about 10 minutes later and the drinks still hadn’t come out. We ordered three Caesars and only received two. One of my friends had to go to the bar to ask about the missing drinks and the friend ended up bringing them over for us. At this point, we were having to go out of our way repeatedly just to receive basic service.

The primary server continued to neglect our table. Despite knowing we were ordering food (we had asked for menus), we again had to track someone down to say we were ready. When our server finally came over, she was unamused, unfriendly, and unprofessional. No politeness at all. She also did not write down any of our orders.

Our food arrived roughly 30 minutes later.

When we finished eating, we needed the bills and to-go containers. Once again, no one checked on us. We had to find staff again to ask. After asking, the server went off and started cleaning tables directly in front of us instead of grabbing the bills and containers. When the bills finally came, she was confused about which items belonged to which person and questioned how many drinks were on each bill — once again making it feel like we were doing her job for her.

The lack of effort, urgency, and basic hospitality was astonishing. Another table that arrived midway through our meal was also getting up repeatedly to seek service, so this clearly wasn’t an isolated issue.

Overall, it was an awful and very unwelcoming experience. I will not be returning for food here, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for attentive or professional service.

Really nice place to grab a burger and watch the game!

The mad scientist in the kitchen who came up with using grilled cheese as the bun for a burger should get a raise! The server confirmed it was low calorie, but I think she was just telling me what I wanted to hear. So good!

My dining partner and I had a really nice time, food was great, service second to none, what more can you ask for?

Lots of parking outside, and easy to get to.

On Friday, Nov 14th I witnessed your waitress, Dani drinking at the bar after her shift. She was being rude and disrespectful to male customers, who appeared to have done nothing wrong. I am guessing that both new and old clients will hesitate to return. My bill was inaccurate, as she did not charge me for my food. I am from a Business Management background and I hate to see a great local pub with a generational legacy ruined by poor service. The bar was not busy for a Friday night, maybe ensuring your staff are well trained in customer service, will bring back repeat business. It was unfortunate, as the other waitress was courteous and did her job in a professional manner. I also enjoyed the band.

I dont know what happened to this place but it has gone completely downhill in the last year I do not recommend at all. I order a dry seasoning and I received wings that are soaking wet and saugy in sauce and yet doesn’t even taste like anything I ordered. Very disappointed as this use to be my go to place for wings. This is probably why the pickering location had to close down. No care and no taste or flavor in the food anymore. After trying the wings because I was hungry im even more disappointed now. Absolutely disgusting I had one wing and threw the rest out in the gabage where it belongs I would feed this to my dogs it’s so bad and this place use to be sooo good and inbound order at least 3 or 4 times a week. I’ll never order food here again. And also the staff that doesn’t care extremely rude and disrespectful. This place needs to close down or get a whole new set up.

Went here for family members birthday. We had made reservations, and they let them fall through without telling us. They sat us at the front of the restaurant in bar area, around a crowd of other people with nowhere to put our decorations up, nowhere to sit; as they didn’t even have enough chairs! We had to wait 2+ hours for seating in the room we made reservations in, but only AFTER the manager told us to kick out the people sitting at our booth in there!!!! The booth was directly beside the loud band and speakers. Nowhere to sit and talk. It was a horrible night of mismanagement from this bar/pub. The bathrooms were disgusting and stunk of pee. We ordered 3 trays of nachos to share while we were waiting in the front area of the bar. There was nothing on the nachos, except maybe a little bit of cheese, sprinkled, not enough meat or anything else that was supposed to be in nachos, and they cost an incredible amount. Oh, and they didn’t supply plates, napkins or bowls for a party of 13+ to share the nachos. It was one of the worst experiences ever. DO NOT plan any type of milestone birthday or celebration here. Its terrible. HUGE disappointment.

Total Bummer! To be clear, we did not try the food because we were there for the advertised Halloween costume party. On October 22 I called and spoke to someone very friendly who assured me there would be a DJ on Friday night and a live band on Saturday. I told her I was calling because we didn’t want to take cabs there only to find out that nothing was going on. Well that’s exactly what happened. Took a cab there and at first I thought it was going to be cool because there was a bit of a crowd and some people were dressed up. The Jay’s game was on but I figured that they would transition the stage area for the party. Nope. Nothing. It was clear that some people were there for Halloween and were confused. We even double checked online while we were there and it still showed DJ BLOO would start the music at 10pm. Nope. The Jay’s then lost the game and killed the energy so some people left. They actually closed the stage area of the bar and I knew then we had come to the wrong place. We moved to the other part of the bar and I watched an Uber van full of people walk in and leave after realizing nothing was going on. Other people showed up and left as well. What was a missed opportunity! Halloween on a Friday night and they couldn’t get it figured out? Took a cab home and the person I was with had to cab it from my place. I sat at home in my costume wondering what the hell just happened. We had been looking forward to a night out forever. Not a good choice dressing up and going to this place. Crappy Halloween

We had a bad experience on December 31st night. After we were seated and served our first round of drinks, the waitress never check back – that’s fine I thought busy day. She later brought the bill without confirming whether we were done. While this may have been a misunderstanding, we still felt it was handled poorly. Despite this, I gave a 25% tip on 85$ bill.

The main issue occurred afterward. We were not finished, and my cousin ordered one more beer and went into the pub area listening to the music. During this time, the waitress came to me and rudely asked if my cousin had left and said he owed her money for one beer. AGAIN, THE SAME BEHAVIOR??! This was uncomfortable and unnecessary, as we were clearly still seated at the table and had not indicated we were leaving. I’m still here, in the pub, so why would you come for money when we didn’t ask to checkout??!!

When my cousin returned, he was unaware of what had happened and still gave her an additional $5 tip on one beer. After I explained the situation, he was disappointed as well. She didn’t deserve to be in the workplace for her skills.

Her tone and approach were disrespectful and accusatory, especially considering we had already tipped generously.

This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable.

I don’t recommend this location. Bollocks this is too bad for your name.
