I was a little skeptical walking through a deserted mall to get to this place. The food was incredible! Gyro meat was perfectly cooked, sauce was tangy and delicious. The pita was perfectly soft and chewy. I had to get some baklava as it looked so good.

John has the best Grecian food in all of Omaha! He is also the most wonderful person. My Grandparents ate his food way back, took my mom & siblings who obviously loved it, and has since taken me and my siblings. I’m 22, and have been going there since I was born. As I’ve grown, John has recognized me and treated me as family. He is the most wonderful man with such an amazing talent for food. I could rave about John and his food forever. His baklava is to die for, and the gyros and souvlaki are immaculate. This a hidden gem in Omaha. The best Grecian food, good prices, and the most wonderful owner!

I remember this place as a child growing up in Bellevue when Southroads Mall was still bustling. The fact that this place is still there arrests to its amazing food. It has become a gem as they say. Family-owned and family-centered in a world where mainstream and business now dominates. Authentic, prices are a steal for what you get, and that tells me that they care more about their customers than profit. You have to do a little search on the bottom floor of the mall, but even that is its own cool adventure and adds to the proof that this place is phenomenal. The awards show it even so far since the mall’s closing! I have provided pictures to show it!

I’ve been eating here since I was five, long before I even knew what a gyro was. Stepping into John’s floods me with nostalgia in the best way possible. I’m reminded of lunch dates with my grandma, stopping by for dinner with my high school best friend and introducing my husband to the best gyros in the Omaha metro area.
John takes so much pride in his food and you can tell he truly values each and every patron. I really enjoy how he thinly slices the gyro meat allowing it to get crispy on the flat top. His tzatziki is the best I’ve ever had!! Thick in consistency and full of flavor. No one does it like John!

This place is great. And the owner John is a great guy, very friendly. For years I’ve always gotten the gyro because its SO good. Last night I had the chicken with lemon potatoes. Wow. I might have a new favorite. Or have to get two plates every time we go!

Made it back again and I brought my wife with me. We each got a gyro w/fries. My gyro was just as good as last time and my wife loved hers as well. I actually got a photo this time.
If you like Greek food then you’ll enjoy John’s Grecian Delight. It has a nice quiet atmosphere, the food service is quick, and the employees are very courteous. The prices are better than fast food places and the food taste better. If they ask if you want sauce on your gyro, say yes. The sauce is amazing.
