My wife and I stopped in for an early Wednesday dinner at Village Inn, a local favorite we’ve been visiting for years—and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and our server was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating.

My wife ordered the patty melt with a side of fresh mixed fruit (other options included fries or coleslaw). Her sandwich was cooked perfectly—crispy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I went with the double club on rye, and it was a beast of a sandwich! Thick-sliced carved turkey, generous strips of thick bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato stacked high—hearty and satisfying. I swapped out the usual fries for hash browns and added a side of their house-made cornbread stuffing. Wow! Everything was served hot, fresh, and fast.

The portions were huge and the value exceptional. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich (which is saying something). The service, food, and overall experience continue to make this one of our go-to spots in Federal Way. Highly recommend!

I had delicious pumpkin pancakes, eggs, fruit and an English muffin. They have great hot chocolate, good service and clean bathrooms. The manager is extremely nice. He came to our table to explain a charge on our bill and mentioned their turkey dinners they’re having through the holidays.

No idea what food is like, after waiting about 10 minutes at the front no one came to greet us we took off. There were plenty of open tables, but the waitresses were overly busy with such a small group of people who were already seated.

We went to our usual diner at Denny’s. They had plenty of people as well, but someone told us right away as soon as we walked in that it would take a minute. Shortly after we got seated and everything fast. It was in and out in no time.

I expected more from a restaurant that has a four star rating. I didn’t see anyone who worked here for at least 5 minutes after I walked in. I was about to leave when the only server on shift came out and acknowledged me while running orders for other tables. She was very good, but couldn’t deliver good service with this big of a restaurant. She was apologetic, which helped, but unless she runs the place, it wasn’t her fault. It was a clear case of understaffing which affected the service throughout the experience. She left a dirty crusty coffee pot on my table and I poured my own coffee.

The food was mediocre. I ordered biscuits and gravy, which would have been a 6.5/10, but the gravy was really bad and made the meal a 4/10 at best. I think it came from a cheap can. It was very gelatinous. After I scraped it off the biscuits, they were okay, but not even as good as my local cheap greasy spoon restaurants.

If this is consistent with the quality of food and service customers get, then this place is easily 30%-40% overpriced.

First time visit, but definitely NOT the last! They’re currently repaving their parking lot, so don’t be deterred to visit because there’s plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant.
We were the only diners when we visited, which was perfect for me. I’m so, so impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant!! The music was great! The food (taste, prices, presentation, etc.), drinks, and service was on-point! We’ve found us another special dining destination. Kudos to ALL the staff!

I am impressed. We ate here for the first time today and the person that sat us was such a lovely man. He was polite and made sure that we got a nice clean table. The service was a little slow but they were really busy and everyone was doing their best.
The food was so tasty. My hashbrowns were crispy and although I didn’t like the texture of my pancakes because I found them a little dense they were delicious. They have a great buttery vanilla flavour and are well cooked. The bacon is excellent. It’s not that usual stuff that tastes like salt but instead it’s like biting into crisp, hickory, porky heaven. Even my husband’s sourdough toast was well toasted without being burnt and buttered to all the corners…. and their orange juice was. It was just good you should try it.
It’s amazing how comforting it is to have a well made breakfast. We will definitely be back to try their burgers.

I’ve been going to the Village Inn for almost 10 years now and the food is Absolutely Fantastic! My fiance and I have our favorite place to sit in the restaurant. The service is excellent! This is the only restaurant that can make a Cobb salad the way I like it. Oldies but goodies music is playing throughout the restaurant which gives it a very good ambience. The prices are very reasonable. If you like American Food I Highly Recommend the Village Inn to everyone!

We’ve been coming here for a number of years and it is a family favorite place to go for breakfast… On this particular day we were there early afternoon and we were disappointed that the service was a little bit slow even though the restaurant did not seem to be that incredibly busy… Food was good however my grandson was not happy with the ranch dressing he got for his French fries, it tasted like a cross between ranch and tartar sauce, not very appetizing. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy used to be a little bit more fluffy and they’ve changed those a little bit however the overall quality of our meals was still really good. As always a staff there is very friendly and welcoming!

What a pleasant surprise to find this place! I am totally sold on the breakfast menu based on that delicious “Smothered Breakfast Burrito.” They got that so right I’m going to vouch for the rest of the breakfast menu! Admittedly, it was more of a brunch burrito and I was extra hungry ; truth be known, that burrito is suitable for two meals, shared or otherwise.
Wife got the two egg plate with cubed potatoes and English muffin (potatoes were too crispy for her and the muffin looked a little beat up) but “all gone” by the end of the meal.
Personal note: avoid the table with the pass through window that opens up to the register if you need a quieter venue.
