I stopped here with my mother for dinner. We were already impressed by how fancy and upscale it appeared. We were sat down immediately right by the pond and statue. The waiter came right over to take the drink order, proceeded immediately by the food order when he delivered the drinks.

I had 2 Philly rolls, a spider roll, and a rainbow roll. My mother had the sweet and sour chicken with pineapple. The display was amazing. Her food came in half a pineapple!

They checked on us concurrently throughout the meal at reasonable intervals. Even just bringing extra napkins before we even had to ask.
Overall it was fast, clean, with a wonderful atmosphere, and very friendly staff. Will definitely be returning at a future date.

Moved back to CT and were excited to go to 9 East. The General Tsos chicken was excellent as were egg rolls and Crispy Wonton Soup!
ThePork with garlic sauce had great flavor, pork was tender, the disappointment was the vegetables. Celery and zucchini???!!
Changed the entire dynamic of what is our favorite dish!!!! More appropriate vegetables would certainly fix this terrible substitution! We were charged $19.00 for this plateful of mistake!
We will be back hopefully the chef will correct his faux pax!
Just a small note our chairs wobbled we were concerned we might fall. Changed chairs no better!

So if anyone knows hibachi its my big back self, i have been to 3 different hibachi places in the past 2 weeks. The food was sort of bland and the yumyum sauce tasted like mayo. The waitress did not refill our drinks, they charged an extra $4 for noodles which neither of the other hibachi places i visited charged extra for. The atmosphere was pretty nice though, which is the only reason i am giving it 2 stars

We dined here as a family on Christmas evening and honestly 9 East is among the best Chinese/Asian restaurants on the CT shoreline. A good amount of people come here for the hibachi experience as well as sushi. But this time we came for the Chinese food which was exceptional for the shoreline. 9 East stands out among the rest for quality food and large portions. When we were seated we were shown the QR code to scan (no menus provided) and honestly the online menu is not intuitive = a wreck of a site and needs to be fixed. But if you get past that, the dining experience is wonderful. We are a family of five and the total bill before tip was $140 and included a scorpion bowl (super strong and a little expensive at $22), one order of scallion pancakes, one order of dumplings, a fried rice, mandarin chicken, general tso chicken, 2 orders of general tso tofu and an order of broccoli/tofu in garlic sauce. We ordered a noodle dish which the waitress forgot to bring but we appreciated that because the portions were large and we were full! All in all, a positive experience with excellent food.

Just ok we didn’t get any zucchini thrown in our mouths like other hibachis in this particular restaurant. doesn’t serve you lo mein noodles .the food was good like most Hibachis but it wasn’t as entertaining as wild kanji in Shelton

Entertaining hibachi with talented chefs. This hibachi is in an updated Asian style restaurant, while it is pretty inside, I personally like the feel of the old hibachi on the other side of town.
The chefs are playful and will squirt sake into your mouths from the bottle and play catch with the vegetables.
The food is delicious, as with any Asian dish. At the hibachi, you start out with a bowl of miso soup and a bowl of salad. For the dinner, I recommend the complete hibachi dinner with steak, which also comes with some shrimp.
There was never any problems with any meals anytime I’ve been there, so I wouldn’t sorry about getting your order wrong. (Besides, at the hibachi, the chef literally makes your meal in front of you)

I don’t have many pictures of this place have taken a video but google doesn’t allow videos. Decor is amazing – I loved the gold fish pond with Buddha statue. Food was fresh and tasty. The best was the fried cheesecake dessert – this is the first time I had it- omg it was so good!!

Held a small work dinner here while a colleague was visiting from out of state. The food was mediocre at best — over-sauced but still pretty bland. The hibachi chef didn’t do much to entertain, which made the experience fall flat. We also weren’t asked about dessert or drink refills, and the staff hung around our table, which made things a bit uncomfortable. Overall, not an experience I’d rush to repeat. There’s another habachi restaurant in town that I wish we chose, next time!

I came for lunch specials on a weekday. I had the Maki lunch special which included: one salad, one miso soup, one avocado roll and one vegetable roll. They were very fresh ! I also ordered a Shirley Temple for a beverage! My guest had the steak and shrimp hibachi lunch special.. that came with a hibachi mushroom soup and fried rice. All delicious and fresh. Our waitress was friendly, courteous and at the top of her game! Water, salads, soup, lunch, beverages and the bill was delivered in a timely manner. Everything appeared to be fresh and the service was excellent!
