A really nice couple own & run this restaurant. Kristine & Carl. Currently open for breakfasts & lunch. Hopefully open for dinners again soon once they can get more staff.
We stopped in for breakfast today and had a wonderful meal. Hubby had ham & eggs that were a generous portion. I had the croissant with egg & bacon. They let me sub the hash browns for sautéed veggies. Kristine said “we are a yes we can – kind of place”
The building was clean, well maintained and had plenty of parking. The food was filling, tasty and just to our liking. The staff pleasant and hard working. The prices very reasonable. Winning on all accounts.
The other tables were full of the local old timers – all getting together to chat over a good meal. If we lived in town, this would be our breakfast hangout too.

Had the Native Taco. It was delicious but huge. Could have easily split with someone else. My husband had the mushroom & Swiss burger and my friend had a chicken sandwich. Both said they were good. Service was very friendly and attentive.

We ate at the Firehouse Diner. It underwent new management in December. The food was great. We had the rib quesadilla and cod basket specials. The fries were excellent. Portions are generous. The staff is friendly and provide good service.

Stopped on our way through and had potato/ vegetable soup, french fries from real potatoes and an egg salad sandwich. ALL very good. Took home a couple of caramel rolls for husbands at home. Friendly all around pleasant experience.

Food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Service wasn’t the best as the server came to our table while talking on the phone and told us to wait a minute when my grandmother asked what kind of soup was available. I’ll probably go back because the food was great.

Food was average or a little better. Service was SLOW. The server did at least recognize that and call in back up when the place got busy. Once we finally ordered food came out quickly. I would go again, but not if I was in a hurry.

While traveling through on business, i decided to stop through. Staff was friendly, as one would expect. It was a very casual place with a couple of TV’s up near the bar.
Menu ranges from sandwiches in the $7-$10ish range. BBQ platters are more around the $15 price point. I opted for the chicken parmesan sandwich and waffle fries. For those two items and a drink, it ended up running me about $15 – which seems a tap pricey for small town SD. It’s worth a stop if you are hungry, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way next time.

Had a bacon cheeseburger that was best I’ve had in a long time. Took home Carmel bun for breakfast. Great place!
