Every part of this place blew my mind! Beautiful views as you eat the most scrumptious food! The Big Wild West Burger was SOO Good! Yum and the fries were excellent….
If you have a large appetite, then this is the place for you! You will not be disappointed! And if you do actually have room, then there is Ice-cream on the ready! The staff were so friendly, and when our 6 motorcycles showed up, they came out to say ‘Hello’ and Thanked us for coming out. We will absolutely be back because I need to try the Hot Dog next….
Located in Elma this new burger joint is the new must try establishment….
Located just a 1 minute drive off highway 11 the Saloon has a big parking lot, shaded dining area, washroom and a great country view.
….. while I don’t eat a hamburger on a regular basis I think I’ve found the one I’ve been waiting for !!!! Juicy, topped just right and the flavour is amazing. While I didn’t order any sides there are all the classics to choose from and they even have soft ice cream for dessert.
After I had my burger in hand I drove back a bit to the bridge over the Whitemouth River where a little rest stop with picnic tables is located. A great place to stop and eat while listening to the water rush by.
If you’re passing by Elma I highly recommend grabbing some food here.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Removing a star from being told we won’t be served an hour before closing and serving everyone before us with no explanation.
I’ve worked coast to coast to coast across Canada. I’ve eaten in roughly a third of the U.S. states. And everywhere I go — big cities, tiny towns, coastlines, back roads — my default food test is always the same: try the burger.
My wife and I used to make entire weekends out of finding small local spots, driving out to little towns just to try whatever burger they were famous for. I’ve been doing this for decades now.
I mention all this only so you can understand the gravity of the statement I’m about to make:
Starlettes Saloon has the best burgers I’ve ever had — anywhere, border to border.
Canada, the eastern U.S. seaboard, Texas, you name it — nothing has beaten it yet.
The food is incredible. The portions are generous. The price is extremely fair. And the owners?
Local, friendly, genuinely happy people who remember you.
If you’ve got allergies, special requests, or just want to chat, they accommodate without hesitation. It’s rare these days to find a place that feels both personal and professional — this one does.
Now, the only “bad,” if you can even call it that:
They’re seasonal.
Which means as I type this, I’m craving the food — and cannot currently acquire it.
I’m going to assume this is strategic on their part to avoid destabilizing the entire food ecosystem out here, because for a small saloon they punch well above their weight.
Depending on where you live, it might look like a bit of a drive.
But I once had two colleagues who drove to Texas in a weekend just to try a burger.
And even Texas — as much as I love their brisket — hasn’t matched what Starlettes puts out.
Check if they’re open (limited days in season, closed out of season).
Once you try it, you’ll understand.
Highly recommend.
Bonus: they have ice cream!
No wonder you won 1st place in the Winnipeg River Burger trail!
Mike had the Wild west burger, we shared the chili fries and I couldn’t finish the outlaw Taco.
Our pup, Molly got the puppy soft serve with the milk bone spoon. Fantastic! it all.
**GIRL, it was so good.**
We will be back.
