I had the patty melt. It was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Cod salad. It was good. The customer service was amazing and the coffee is great. I love the variety of the menu and I love how attentive my server Tiffany was. I did not have to search for her she was always around when I needed something. 10 out of 10❤️

This was our first time here. Their menu was like 8 pages, offering a large selection. It was Friday, and they had the all you can eat walleye and shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. I’ll also say that their soup, mashed potatoes and gravy, ribeye, hash browns, eggs,and pancakes were awesome because our group was sharing so we could all try different things. This place is family owned, extremely friendly and excellent customer service. Pricing was also perfect for value and quality. We will go back.

Wanting some brisk success and gravy and this place was a good place to try it. Hash browns were crispy. The biscuits and gravy were done well. I thought it was an overall good experience. The waitress Lynette was really on top of her game despite being very busy.

First time at Rise and Shine did not disappoint! Excellent pancakes….fluffy, not dry, with a delish vanilla taste. Eggs, scrambled well done were just as I requested. Sausage patty was tasty, not too much sage, as some seem to have. Hash browns with onions were crispy and fresh. Coffee was good and hot. Service was excellent as well! Glad we tried Rise and Shine and we will be back.

Came for dinner at 6:45 p.m. The serving lady was nice. Especially when told about my severe food allergies. I ordered the spaghetti and my mom had the gyro pita.
The gyro meat was overcooked and the spaghetti tasted like it came out of a can. It looks like they just sprinkled some seasoning on it to make it look nice.

The one good thing about this place is that they are open later than egg haven. Thats it.
The staff here are weird. They have a staring problem. I dont know why but when we drove into the lot, parked, and walked in, the staff sat there doing nothing staring out the window watching us. I stared back and mouthed at them why are you staring and they didnt even care. I figured they were nosy customers. I got in, and then saw them one get up to take my order… Was very strange.
The pancakes were very over priced and are no where near as good as egg haven.

Fabulous diner experience y’all! Our waitress Grace was super attentive and so sweet! The hostess, who may have been the owners wife? Not sure, but super sweet and attentive as well.
This place is Clean y’all! Clean floors, booths, and Bathrooms! My hubby had the breakfast Slammer dish which was hashbrowns with Cinnamon swirl bread, sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches. 2 of them! And they were generous!
He loved them!
I had the Santa Barbara cheeseburger which was Fabulous! Avacado, bacon, thousand island sauce. Yumm!
I definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody or any family when you’re in the Dekalb Illinois area.

Neat and clean restaurant. Delicious and well prepared food served on time by friendly staff. I miss the music or anything else to complement the pleasure of good food. The interior does not in any way indicate that this is a family restaurant. A great place to take in your missing calories.

It was quite delicious, and the service was awesome! Friendly, prompt, and unobtrusive.
It was pretty quiet when we arrived, but by the time we left, the restaurant was full and bustling with happy customers. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for an atmosphere of family, laughter and great food!
