I grew up on Chicken Shack and have ate it my entire life. They have gone down hill and are absolutely horrible now days in my opinion. Their food how continuously gone down hill year after year and is just straight trash now! My wife and I ordered their 9 piece shrimp meal and 5 piece cod meal to split. The shrimp were small and not worth the $16.95 at all! The cod was tiny little pieces of perfectly uniformed size and again not worth the $14.99. Their breasted potatoes were barely cooked and just seemed to blanched and then bathed in butter, not fried in the slightest bit. There condiments (tartar/cocktail) are just prepackaged garbage now. I remember when the cod appeared to be hand cut and battered or at least it appeared to be because ever piece was a unique shape and size, and the tartar and cocktail sauces appeared to be made in house. I’m sad to say that they have officially lost a customer because they have degraded their product to a point that I will no longer give them my business. You’re better off going to one of the many other fried chicken and fish places around town. If I’m being honest you can find a better product at a gas station these days!

I honestly have to say that this location 18 mile & Dequindre the place is very inviting and very clean but most of all the care and preparation of the food is outstanding they take so much pride on friendly service and the children is top shelf fresh and juicy & so tasty along with the perfect paring of sides absolutely delicious. Keep on doing what your doing ‘ it’s fabulous # 1 in my book.

I am a longtime customer of chicken shack, I like the flavor and crunch of the broasted cooking method. I should have looked closer at the description of the chicken bites. The grease seeped through the cardboard holder for the chicken bites, Chicken Bites were super greasy, batter dipped=grease cooked=TUMS… live and learn.

I have not had an issue with the location in St Clair Shores but I had 2 rough incidents with this location and this time was the final straw. Really gross looking piece of chicken possibly underdone, kind of tasted off…

I’ve gotten food from this location for at least 9-10 years now. I am contemplating not coming back to this location ever again. The quality of the food has gone way down. For instance regarding the chicken bites. They used to give you 10 fairly large pieces of chicken and the last few times I’ve gotten them they were smaller than a chicken nugget at McDonald’s. The chicken bites are also now have too much breading and too well done. I’m very disappointed with this matter. For I will attach pictures and show my hand in it for reference.

What the hell did they give me? I got a fried mushroom for $4.29 and this is what I receive? Literally just opened them and THIS is what I get? For reference the potatoes are a small order so I would have assumed that the mushrooms should be somewhat on par with them, but nope! Mushrooms aren’t even that great. Like they’re alright but if you’ve ever had them somewhere else you really aren’t missing much.
Should add that the potatoes are good though. Only reason I got Chicken Shack in the first place, but even then, the fried mushrooms still leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Chicken shack is an amazing place for food. I loved the amount of different kinds of food and how there are snack sized portions for sale. And the food is amazing. There potatoes are very crispy and crunchy. And in my whole life i have never tasted such good chicken. The chicken was very crispy and juicy. If i could i would eat here every day. i rate this place a 10/10 if you are looking for a new place for food COME HERE!!!
