I was very happy with the meal here in Molito. We had the smaller steaks plus soup. The place was very busy on a Wednesday night, but service was really excellent. I’ll certainly go again at some point. Easy parking at the Molito center and a short walk.

Wooden Horse has never failed me in term of the food and service. I have been to this restaurant whenever I am in Manila. Usually I will order the angus ribeyes steak, and it is always taste good if not excellent. The staffs are friendly and attentive. The owner, koichi will always make the effort to greet us whenever he is around. Great people great food! Kudos to team!

It is a Western-style steakhouse, and the interior decoration is retro enough to remind you of the American Wild West. The crew members wear cowboy outfits and hats, creating a unique atmosphere. The food we ordered was served quickly, and the performance of a middle-aged singer playing the guitar and singing was also good. The Ribeye steak had a soft and rich flavor due to its high fat content. Ribeye steak is one of the most popular beef cuts. The cut comes from the ribs of the cow, especially the meat between each rib. The tenderloin is a rare cut that only produces about 8kg of the edible cuts from a single cow when slaughtered. Not only is it small, but the texture is also excellent. It is noteworthy that the marbling that usually improves the meat quality of beef is almost nonexistent, but the meat quality and flavor are unparalleled. However, depending on the meat quality and cooking method, it may feel a bit dry. The tenderloin steak provided at the store had a somewhat dry texture and was average in taste. The onion rings were delicious, and the wooden horse was a salad with a moderate flavor.

The service was amazing. The staff, Allen, was attentive. The facilities were very clean and air conditioning greatly welcome. I got the Denver steak with fries and the grilled pompano with carrots and fresh green beans. Both were excellent. The steak came with a salad and house dressing. The house dressing is good but to set your expectations it was Japanese sushi inspired flavors. I got to try a friend’s hamburger steak (meatloaf) and that was great too. We also got chips and salsa and I will say the salsa is different than what I’m use too from the USA. As far as atmosphere, the staff was well dressed in cowboy attire and the decorations were Texas themed. Any American travelers missing the feel of Texas would enjoy the effort from this restaurant.

The place is okay, but the steak was a letdown. I ordered it medium, but it still came out too dry, which really took away from the experience. The flavor wasn’t anything special either — just kind of bland. There are definitely better spots in the area if you’re looking for a good steak. Service was so-so: not rude, but not particularly helpful or attentive. Overall, it felt pretty average. Not terrible, but not worth going out of your way for.

You’ll get a generous amount of food for a reasonable price. The food is a little salty, but the ambiance is nice, and they feature a live band on weekend nights.

Loved the food! The steaks are always the highlight of the meal whenever we go there! Whether it’s on a sizzling plate or not, the steak is always cooked just how I like it. Though I would recommend letting it rest for a few minutes, as it may look rarer than you expect if you cut into it straight away upon serving. The appetizers and the bread they offer also tasted great and all the flavors came together well. For the price, you get good quality meat, but they do have more budget-friendly options if you have a budget.

We were treated to dinner here by the local company we were visiting and really enjoyed the stop. The decor is a big play on western United States cowboy history, with the waitresses all wearing blue jeans and cowboy hats. As a current resident of Des Moines, IA with John Wayne’s birthplace (Winterset, IA) a short 20 minutes drive away, I enjoyed seeing his picture on the wall.
I ended up ordering Teriyaki Salmon, with others in the party also enjoying salmon and steaks. We all enjoyed our meals – prepared and presented well, and very tasty.
Since it was a 10 minute walk from my hotel, I returned a few nights later to enjoy a couple of beers. I did take pictures on this visit…see attached.

I’m delighted to have been to Wooden Horse again after a few years. The steak is still a delight to your preferred doneness. The ribs are juicy and tender for those who prefer pork. Not much choice for deserts and their cheese cake is quite good. Glad to see the same loyal employees and chef too.
