Portion was huge and restaurant was trying out new dip for its fries….. can’t remember what it was but it was super good. Service was great , waitress was friendly. Loved it all!! Only place open on Tuesday in Portland and it was great!! Will for sure be back!!!

I recently visited this wonderful small, family-owned restaurant, and I was absolutely blown away. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care, pride, and love they put into everything they do. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is heartfelt, and the food is truly exceptional.
Their pizza is some of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crisp crust, fresh toppings, and incredible flavor in every bite. The burgers are juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, and the fish and chips are outstanding—light, crispy, and beautifully done without being greasy.
You can tell everything is made with attention and passion. If you’re looking for delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy, family-run atmosphere, this restaurant is a true gem. Highly recommended!

We ordered a large pizza with bacon on half. It was excellent! There was plenty of cheese on it as well as plenty of bacon bits. The cheese was perfectly browned, not burnt at all, and tasted great. The crust was also perfectly done, just browned slightly very evenly. They make the dough there.
It’s one of the least greasy pizza’s I’ve ever had from a pizza shop and tasted great! It was about half an hour wait for the pizza. I’m not sure if that’s normal or because we were the first ones for the day, they had just opened, and they had to wait for the oven to heat up. Anyway, the pizza was excellent and I would totally go back.
All the seating was available to us. There are a handful of tables inside and at least 10 to 15 tables on the deck, some of those have a roof over them. We chose a seat outside and it was great with the cool, fresh, breeze undoubtedly from the nearby lake.

My boyfriend and I wanted to come here and enjoy the food, but instead we couldn’t eat sitting down only take out when you used to be able to sit down, so we odered food to go and it took 2 hours to get our food when I needed to get back to my place because family was coming and also really overpriced for what we got. Food was 8/10

The Fish and Chips were awesome!!! The service was great and manager was was very accommodating and friendly. This was my first time eating at this lovely old-time building local business, weither eat-in or take-out. And I strongly recommend the Fish and Chips. The fish was very white and flaky with a light batter.

Unfortunately I have to report this was a total dissapointment. I ordered their meat lovers pizza with mushrooms for take out, with all the great review was looking forward to a great tasting pizza. I have added a photo, you tell me.
If they had ran out of their regular crust I’d hope they would pass that on to their customers.

What a fantastic surprise — Portland Family Restaurant and Pizzeria is everything you want in a small-town spot, and then some.
We dined indoors and were immediately struck by how clean, cozy, and welcoming the space was. It’s got that down-to-earth charm where you instantly feel at home. No frills — just great food and great people.
The pizza was absolutely top-notch. Golden crust, flavourful sauce, and fresh toppings piled on generously. You can tell it’s all made from scratch, with care — not a frozen shortcut in sight. Every bite was hot, melty perfection.
Service was friendly, genuine, and fast. The staff made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. It’s rare these days to walk into a place and feel seen, but that’s exactly what happened here.
If you’re anywhere near Portland, do yourself a favour and stop in. Whether you’re just passing through or a Rideau Lakes local, this place is a gem. We’ll be back again — and probably again after that. ❤️
