Decided to try local and this place had good ratings. Had a margarita pizza with bacon and antipasto salad. OMG the croutons were still warm fresh out the oven!! SO FRESH SO GOOD. Pizza was good. Loved the crust. Will try again and try the duke special. Loved the home town staff. Fun to chat with! Would give 5 stars but no indoor dining. Had to eat inside Duke’s BBQ, which was fine.

I LOVE Duke’s- the establishment, the food, and the service, but the pizza was a swing and a miss. The crust is unseasoned and dry- there’s no traditional crust- just a blackened edge where the sauce and toppings end. The sauce seemed canned, unseasoned and overly sweet, and the cheese tasted and melted like packaged pre-shredded mozzarella. The look and taste was reminiscent of a wood-fired lunchable pizza. The toppings of the Hawaiian were good quality, so that was a positive. Maybe it was just an off night, but I’ll stick with the bbq going forward.

Duke’s has the best pizza in Wentzville bar none. Lot’s of unique specialty pizzas and build your own options with a great selection of ingredients.
Shares space with Duke’s BBQ too so you can grab the best wings around to pair with it.
If you’re a local and really miss Blaze pizza this is your spot.

We recently moved to the Wentzville area from central St. Louis. We’ve been spoiled with all the great choices in STL (Union Loafers, Pie Guy, Louie, Katie’s, etc etc etc). Duke’s Slice House is the only pizza we have found that consistently competes with other great pizza.
Pizzas are all really good. Carry out’s are always on time. Sides are also great. Cinna knots are cravable. This is a restaurant to go back to, again and again.

Pizza here is relatively average; not bad but not great. The crust is forgettable, the sauce is decently flavorful, the toppings are pretty good but the cheese itself tastes cheap. They do not advertise the size of the pies on their website (weird) but on the phone they said they were 12-13 inches, which appears to be true. At $18+ per pie, this makes these pies relatively high priced for the size and I just don’t believe the quality is there to demand that.
We also tried to do a half and half pizza and they were really weird about what two pizzas we could combine to do that, making it very limiting. Then they got the order wrong anyways.
Tried a caesar salad too and the romaine was fresh, croutons were tasty, dressing was quality but cheese was cheap prepackaged junk. We tried the garlic bread also and it was nothing special and tasted cheap.
Overall, if Duke’s can drop their prices by about 25%, they would have a competitive offering. For now, there are much better pizza places in the vicinity that it just doesn’t make much sense to order from them again. Duke’s serves a midrange (at best) pizza for gourmet prices.
