She ask us what was we drinking and we said tea
We waited and waited..then we see the server seating 4 other people that was not our race then ask them what was they drinking and she brought their drinks out right away and we still waited..I told my sister I was gonna be good because today was her birthday..so I said to the server excuse me,we been waiting for our drinks and she replied she forgot..I was pissed we ordered all you can eat catfish whole fish, the server brought us flies back under some greasy French fries,so I told the server we didn’t order this so we waited for awhile and she came back with the whole catfish on top of French fries( greasy)I would never go back there!! My first experience and my last experience there!! We must learn as humans to treat everyone equally and stop looking at our skin!! We all bleed red blood!! I’m sick of it!! Treat people like you would wanted to be treated!!! #ServerHaley
So…needless to say we probably won’t go back again.
Still my Biggest complaint is…. I never have enough room for a piece of cake!
Its always a pretty setting. Its always clean and the food is always good. The hushpuppies and coleslaw are the best around these parts, hands down. The steak was cooked just right, delicious. The shrimp were big and fried just right. The hamburger steak delicious. Always a win win when you go and eat there. The staff is friendly and prompt. The owner,,well,,,she’s a great example of what professionalism is. Another great outing at Loaves and Fishes
Our server was not patient and came across with an attitude. At one point, we witnessed her drop a drink lid on the floor, then pick it up and serve it to another customer. My dad ordered lemonade, which tasted bad; when he requested a replacement, the second one was still watered down and unpleasant before it even reached the table. I asked for a knife, and it was handed to me with her fingers directly on the blade that would touch my food.
We also noticed concerning behavior toward the bus boys. Our server placed her tray of drinks on a dirty table, asked the bus boys to wipe it down, then took the rag herself and wiped it with a dirty cloth before making another comment to them. The bus boys then had to redo the work with a clean rag. In contrast, the bus boys were professional, efficient, and very quick in clearing tables—even before the previous guests had made it out the door. They deserve recognition for how well they handled themselves.
Additionally, we saw the hostess nearly run into an elderly woman on her way to the restroom rather than politely walking around her.
We really enjoyed our food, and I want to mention that I had actually eaten at this same restaurant the night before. The service then was outstanding, and the food was just as wonderful. Unfortunately, the service tonight was subpar in comparison. We typically tip our servers generously, but tonight our waitress did not receive a good tip. More than anything, I truly hope someone shares Jesus with her, because she seemed to be struggling.
While the food was once again excellent, the lack of professionalism and poor service from certain staff members significantly impacted our overall experience.
Wilmer Alabama for dinner Thursday night on my own driving back from Mobile. Off in the country, this place looks like a boutique inside, decorated in a way Diane would have loved. Using my general excuse of “wanting to try as many items as possible” I ordered the Seafood platter that comes with catfish, shrimp, oysters, and frog legs. I changed the oysters for more shrimp and got a side salad as my extra to go along with the hushpuppies and coleslaw the meal comes with.
The salad was fresh and crisp, the coleslaw was good and a family size portion and the hushpuppies were plentiful and awesome. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t eat all of the hushpuppies so I took them on the road with me and snacked for the next 600.
The fish, shrimp and frog legs were lightly breaded but still were able to have crispness. All were good but the frog legs were the best I’ve ever had. So tender and mild flavor. Overall it was a very good experience and definitely recommend.
While the food was fantastic, the kind service and Christian environment were what especially stuck out to me. I appreciate how they display Christian and patriotic values through their decor, which features several Bible scriptures, American flags, and even a table devoted to soldiers for Memorial Day (at the time of writing). I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant! Please give it a try!
