1st time here. I actually stopped in initially to pick up and deliver a catering order. It was ready and packed properly for delivery. The staff was excellent and the store very clean. The food smelled so good, I went back for lunch. The food is delicious and excellent potion sizes. Definitely try the variety of sauces on their hot bar. I will definitely return.

I eat here probably once a month, and have always had a great experience. They have a hot sauce bar, which is great to try different flavors. The restaurant is always clean and well kept, the food arrives quickly. The staff is always friendly and even walks around to make sure that tables are clean and asks if anyone needs refills. I’m very impressed by the quality and customer service. The Tuesday and Thursday daily specials are a great deal too!

Oh, MY. Tijuana Flats is My Kinda Place!!
We paid our first visit on a recent Friday for dinner. And. It. Was. Awesome!
Tijuana Flats occupies the space that used to be…(wait…I have absolutely no idea what used to occupy this space)…something else and opened recently. I had never heard of Tijuana Flats before and I love, Love, LOVE Mexican, so this was an easy choice.
The inside was very clean and very colorful. From the Louisville-ized mural on the wall to the color coding on the Hot Bar, it’s a color feast for the eyes.
You order at the counter they bring the food to you when it’s ready. Since this is our first visit we had questions, which Justin was able to answer, and he also provided helpful suggestions. The menu isn’t enormous, but it’s well-suited to the establishment, covering the typical Mexican fare with some sides and a few specialty items. Since I’m a huge fan of Street Tacos, I went with the Green Chile Street Tacos. We also got a Chips and Guac starter.
Food delivery took less than ten minutes, and the food was hot and fresh and the tortilla chips we still warm. The guac (freshly made) was 100% awesome!
Between the chips that came with our starter and the chips that came with our entrees, we had A LOT of chips! (note: All entrees come with chips)
My Green Chile Street Tacos were most excellent! I tried one sauce from each section of the Hot Bar.
Oh, man, I gotta tell you about the Hot Bar.
The Hot Bar is their sauce/salsa section. There are 3 different sauces on each of 4 sides. The bottom of each section is color coded to go with the heat level of the sauces on that side. Green for mild, then yellow for medium, orange for hot, and red for Holy Hell Hot! It’s a completely cool and a completely clever way to provide the sauces. There are paper cups available as well.
As we sat there was someone coming out to take care of the dining room every few minutes. There are no trash cans because they clear the tables after you leave.
The décor is colorful, that atmosphere is fun, the service was great, and the food was excellent. We will MOST definitely be back!

This was our first time visiting the restaurant. We arrived excited and left very disappointed. While the customer service was great and the staff were attentive, unfortunately the food was absolutely horrible. We ordered the atom bombs, chips and salsa, queso, Mexican rice, black beans, hard shell beef dos tacos, steak quesadilla. The chips and salsa were great! The chips were seasoned and the salsa tasted fresh. Aside from that, the first thing we noticed is that everything was extremely oily and greasy. The atom bombs, tacos and quesadillas were all literally dripping with oil and it made overshadowed any other flavoring. I was excited to try the atom bombs because it’s flour tortillas filled with different cheeses and jalapeño. How could you mess that up?! So much potential but the only thing you could taste is the oil. The ground beef in the tacos and steak in the quesadilla were unseasoned and bland. Same for the rice and beans. Spent $55. Prices were a little high and definitely overpriced for the quality of food. Will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

I had never been to a Tijuana Flats. I drove by it often. Watched the progress on construction. Checked out the menu online. I got very excited for the Taco Salad. They used to be ubiquitous, but then fell out of favor. Well, finally had one. They opened a couple days ago. DELICIOUS. I had beef and black beans. Salsa as a dressing. It was so good. I’m a fairly picky eater with textures. I was worried, but it was amazing. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to try more goodies.

10/10 recommend if you like a little heat I got a quesadilla and guacamole both had very fresh ingredients fresh jalapeños, they definitely took time in the kitchen to make it good my sister got the beef bowl and it’s very green and looked delicious! If you’re not into spicy they have options for that as well. Also the young man up front who took our order was just great. Set the mood for us to have a good lunch will 100% be back.

They don’t give you daily deal without you asking yet they have a sign advertising the deal on top of the counter. Then, they don’t put seasoning on their chips anymore which is one of the reasons I went there. I was told it depends on who makes the chips. I always go there at lunch. I contacted the company on their website 8 days ago and no response. Poor Customer Service!!

We ordered food through GrubHub,, and the GrubHub delivery was fine. We ordered two of the, meatless tacos that are on their menu. When we received the food, the temperature of meatless tacos was like the ingredients had just been taken out of the refrigerator. There was no warmth to them at all. I called the number on the website, which is a 217 area code and the person that I talked to there said that they would give my telephone number to the local manager, and I would receive a phone call. I have not received any further contact.

Food has no flavor or seasoning. Tacos are bite sized and the corn tortillas as not cooked. Queso doesn’t taste of anything but flour. The guacamole is pretty good and so is the salsa. The burrito and nachos tasted the same, mostly of wet lettuce and unseasoned rice. Decent price for bad food.
