We had a lovely dinner at Fish 801. The oysters were delicious. We had asked the waiter to choose two options for us based on our flavor profile and he did a great job. He also went out of his way to ask about the caviar we wanted which he was told was sold out. Turns out they had an incoming order that day and it was actually available. The lobster fried rice was yum! And the sea bass was cooked perfectly and tasted so good. We enjoyed how close this restaurant was to our hotel too so we were able to just walk on over.

My wife and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant to celebrate WITH US! from the time we entered greeted by management, coats checked and the team begin to make this night memorable!

Our server Delbert has exceptional knowledge of the menu, was extremely personable and charismatic. It felt like he was family and sought to really be intentional on detecting our palate and assisting in choosing the right meal for us! Not being a prisoner of the moment because l have been going out to eat for 50 years but Delbert is the BEST server we have ever experienced!

The Executive Chef Tyler Wayne Blackmon’s touch on the selections for the night spoke to his passion for creating exquisite cuisine! The food didn’t just taste good but it spoke to us echoing the passion of the chef and importance of our celebration. The chef even made my wife some fried shrimp off menu and she was over the moon excited!!

The whole team signed our special anniversary menu to commemorate this evening!!

Suggestions that we thoroughly enjoyed :
Garlic Parmesan Grilled Oysters – seafood lovers dream
Lobster Risotto – very flavorful containing a whole lobster tail. Amazing
Miller’s Amish Chicken – a chefs special the most moist chicken you will ever taste

From the bar- “Cold Fashioned”. PLEASE TRY THIS DRINK such a spin on the old fashioned staple that I can’t wait to try it again!!

A host of desserts that rounded out the celebration.
Cookies, bread pudding and brown sugar cheese cake!

Sooo, for the negative…Service here is a bit slow even on “slow” nights. I’ve been here a few times and each time my party and I have waited up to 20 minutes before being acknowledged and receiving water at our table.

The food though is superb!! I’ve had almost all of their appetizers which have all been very good and a few of their entrees (swordfish, buttered crusted fish?, and the branzino with a side of lobster fried rice) which have all been stellar!! If I could, I would probably dine here weekly. Outside of slower service the ambiance is beautiful, location is perfect, and food is delicious.

We celebrated our Valentines Day early and WOW this place blew us away! We had 2 appetizers: the Spanish octopus and the crab cake! Then my girlfriend had the scallops, I had the branzino and we shared the lobster mac and cheese & the lobster bisque! Every course was just as amazing as the one before! Not to mention so beautifully presented! Our server (Jacob) was excellent! So pleasant & made our experience enjoyable! Plus the atmosphere is beautiful! Probably one of the best meals at any restaurant I’ve had in St. Louis!

I had a great experience yesterday. Food was amazing, mocktails were good and the tuna appetizer is a must have!
The only reason I’m not ranking five stars is because of Service. It took a while for a server to come and later, they forgot that we had ordered a mocktail which we had to wait for again. Otherwise, staff was amazing and our server was great!

Because nothing says “I crushed 18 holes” like crushing an entire seafood restaurant afterward. It’s #stlouispescatarianapproved, which obviously means: one of everything, please and thank you.

Oysters were Slurped. Crab cakes were gone in sixty seconds. Lobster Mac was attacked. And the sea bass didn’t stand a chance either. Oh, and I got fries for dessert.

These girls came to eat, not to putt. If you’re not leaving 801 Fish full, happy, and slightly smug about your taste in food, you’re doing it wrong.

The food was tasty. I had the seebass, and she had the salmon. Both plates were good but a little inflated on pricing. From our experiences, we’re just used to getting a higher level of food for those prices. But overall the food was good and the service was descent.
