During these challenging financial times, it was amazing to find a place that served excellent food with a smile in a cozy hometown atmosphere. While the food was affordable, it was good quality, well prepared and plenty of it. First, the coffee was one of the surprises for me. It was NOT your average diner coffee ($1.99 bottomless). It had really good flavor and body. I had the corned beef and two eggs breakfast special with sourdough bread and home fries ($6.95). The home fries were nice and crunchy and very well seasoned. I got FOUR pieces of toasted, buttered bread! The corned beef hash was served as a patty that was well browned on slightly crisp on both sides. The eggs were cooked really well. The chef behind the scenes really knows their stuff!! From the outside, it’s a humble-looking place like a local, run-of-the-mill diner, but trust me, there’s nothing common or ordinary about the food here. We plan to come back again. Excellent service and ambiance, too.

I usually go very early in the morning. 5am early. They serve food hot and freshly made. I also love the decaf they serve piping hot. I usually get eggs with home fries and sourdough toast. I’ve also had their cinnamon swirl pancakes and other breakfast items. I have not been disappointed yet with anything I’ve eaten here.
IMHO, this is the best breakfast spot in York. I’ve tried them all folks, the Qest Manchester diner are the best at breakfast.
The servers are always topping off my decaf with steaming hot coffee. Yes, how i like it!

The Manchester Diner has a very large menu of both healthy and comfort foods, all freshly prepared. Lots of local ethnic foods like Hog Maw and Pork & Sauerkraut. Portions are generous. Service is attentive and food is served quickly. Prices are very reasonable.

I was craving a large breakfast for myself, figured I would try this diner out. Came on a Monday morning around 9am, was seated right away , no wait time. They have a large menu and daily specials as well. I got the sausage gravy with home fries, paid an extra 1 dollar to get the sausage gravy over top of my home fries as well. That was good, however my husband got the cream chipped beef (not pictured) and I felt like that tasted better than mine. I also got myself 1 plain pancake, that was good. Staff were attentive.

Our waitress was sooo nice and attentive. I didn’t catch her name but she had pink acrylic nails and wore white crocs but s/o to her. We literally ordered and the food was ready no lie like 5 minutes. I ordered the eggs Benedict the sauce they use was a little different but BETTER than any other diner in the area. Home fries very bland but that’s typical diner food. We also ordered the 2/2/2/2 the suasage are HUGE. Atmosphere VERY OUTDATED it use to be a mcdonalds from like the 90s lol still has the same flooring and it def has the smell of a mcdonalds. That fry smell. Our bill came out to about 29 bucks for 2 meals a juice and coffee. So most likely we will be back for breakfast since this is prolly top diner in the area I’ve tried so far.

I checked out the area I know not many reviews but it’s certainly worth going.
You have from bacon eggs to omelettes to wraps and sandwiches all very reasonably priced I went with pancakes with a side of bacon pancakes very light super fluffy very good.
Yeah it’s a building built for fast food chain but what they made it into is a local breakfast and lunch place for the locals super friendly polite staff and you do have a lot of the locals coming in they all know each other.
The place is clean comfortable spacious seating and they have free wifi large parking lot.

The food was pretty good, but everything costs extra. For example, I ordered an omelet and had to pay extra to have cheese in the omelette. I don’t know that I have ever seen an omelette without cheese until dining here. The omelette came with toast and when asked what type, I ordered rye. What they failed to tell me until I saw it on the bill was that rye costs extra.

Food was mid. My daughters was good. Mine was over cooked. Alot. Dry. But the servers were amazing. The atmosphere is great. Prices are decent. Is go again and just ask to have it not cooked so long that it’s dry.
