TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Hot fresh & very good. Everything was crispy & seemed made to order. However I knocked off one star due to No hotness of the chicken.. I wanted at least some spice. I guess I’ll have to go up a level just to get that. & I do wish the meals come with a drink, I didn’t realize that until afterwards. For the price it should come with a drink. Also the cashier I had this afternoon was very nice & friendly, that’s always appreciated.

This was my first time at Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it was a great experience. Sylvia(I think was her name), who took my order, was the best—she asked if I’d been there before and, when I said no, she took her time to explain the menu and gave me some suggestions. She was super helpful. The food was great; the loaded fries w/the coleslaw and chicken were a “chef’s kiss.” The mac and cheese was just okay, but everything else was so good.

Perfect chicken! We love Daves in general, but had only been to the location in Lakeville MN. Even though they had no drivethrough it was well worth the trip. Shared a #2 with one other person. Asked for extra pickles and slaw, didnt get the slaw but they loaded us up with pickles!!! 10/10 will visit again.

Was really excited to try this, price is decent, the chicken is always fresh at least when I’ve been there, love the different spice levels. Fries are good. They have a lot to offer but wish they had drinks with their meals…I don’t understand the separation of the drink? Would give 5 stars if it was closer to where I lived bc I’m on the other side of town so I don’t get it often

I’ve been here 3 times in the last week and a half, and have tried the Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, and Reaper. Definitely helps to have a milkshake handy for when the spice kicks in. The chicken is nice and juicy and flavorful. Two tenders is like a plump chicken breast. Like a lot of reviewers have suggested, using the app makes things go faster. The service here is very good and the people are friendly.

My first time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken was the best experience I could’ve possibly had! Since this location just opened, we had some trouble ordering online but once we got our order placed, waited about an hour to an hour and a half, our order was ready right when the app said it would be and it was HOT! We didn’t really mind the wait, we expected the location to be busy. The chicken is the juiciest and most tender chicken I’ve ever had. The spices are delicious too. Fries were perfectly crispy. The staff at this location are so friendly too and were circling around and asking how the food was. I had a great experience.

This is a chain chicken spot, but a QC must. I have eaten through all the heat levels and the chicken itself is fantastic, but the coating loses flavor in favor of heat after medium.
For my taste, the milkshake is special and works really well with the chicken. Whatever you do with the chicken, get the milkshake. The slushy works pretty well too.
