HM is the best steakhouse in North Dakota. Prove me wrong.
The steaks themselves start out as first rate cuts of meat and then rubbed and seared to perfection. I’ve enjoyed the New York, boneless ribeye and bone in ribeye and all are outstanding.
The loaded baked potato is delightful and the side vegetable (usually asparagus) is definitely big enough to share. The bruschetta and Cesar Salad are great ways to get started.
The wine list is small but high quality. I have gotten into the Prisoner Red Blend and the Ovis Cabernet.
I have enjoyed their cheesecake and crème brûlée for dessert and both are perfect.
Also, they are open all day on Saturday and Sunday and their breakfast is wonderful.
Lastly, the service is great. I generally prefer to sit in the bar area, but all of the staff are courteous, professional and friendly. I’ve seen BJ mentioned elsewhere here, and she is really good.
Oh, and they cater for local oil companies, too. All in all, I can’t say enough good things about what Heather has built on the hill. HM is a pastime for me.

We were not informed about the 3.5% service charge for paying with a card vs. cash, which should absolutely be disclosed upfront. Transparency matters and is technically effortless.
The service was disappointing. Despite being the only customers in the building, our waitress rarely checked on us and did not refill drinks once they were empty. That level of inattentiveness is hard to overlook, especially when the restaurant wasn’t busy.
The food was just okay. Overall the chicken was good but both steaks were not cooked properly unless you ordered them nearly well done. I opted to bend mine back and revived the steak to a blue standard rather than medium rare. There didn’t seem to be much accuracy in between.
The mixed drinks were very poorly made. When I asked about one, the waitress even alluded to the drinks not being great and it was still worse than expected despite the price being $16 and $20.
Overall, both the food and drinks are overpriced for the quality, the portion sizes are good but the quality is severely lacking. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the cost and this is the 2nd visit as my first was when they first opened.

Excellent food! Excellent customer service! All in all a great expeexperien. BJ the server greeted me at the door with a welcoming warm smile and I could tell she really loves her job. I walked in a stranger and left feeling like an old friend. I ordered the 20 oz. bone in ribeye and asparagus it was done perfectly. I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish the steak fit for a king but I did. Then I ordered a made in house chocolate moose pie with a raspberry topping to go it was very good. Its hard to find a place with great food and great customer service anymore. M&H steakhouse hit it out of the park on both food and service! I will be going back. Do your selves a favor and check it out.

A very nice restaurant. Great NY strips, we came at least 10 times in 2 weeks, each time the steak is excellent and perfectly cooked as requested. We were traveling for business and decided to have dinner hm’s. The space is somehow both cozy and upscale entwined.The service was top tier! Felt like we were dining with old friends. There were great food recommendations, lots of conversation and plenty of laughs. The food was outstanding! Great craftsmanship and quality ingredients. Chefs kiss…This place is a true gem!

It’s consistent and excellent because the owner Casey is the chef… the steaks are excellent, the brandy mushroom sauce is, OMG. The pasta is perfect. The atmosphere is nice, the staff are happy and friendly. Best place in town, hands down… it’s not cheap, McDonald’s and Subway are up the street.

I say this with all sincerity (and after many different cities) the best bruschetta, chicken Alfredo, and mousse pie I have ever had. Each one is worth the visit. Fantastic service, open window to kitchen, and beautiful view. Worth the price.
