I had breakfast at this place today, and it was truly delicious. The pleasant atmosphere, cozy setting, and excellent food left the warmest and most lovely impressions.
Thank you for a wonderful breakfast and a great start to the day!

The cost for greasy hash browns and a tiny, equally greasy Vermont Omelette plus coffee was $20. The omelette was seriously tiny. See pictures. Served on a little plate to make it look larger, I guess. I was very disappointed. Whoever the cook is doesn’t know how to make hash browns crispy. They were flat and greasy. Only one piece of toast, cut in half. I was really looking forward to liking this place because I told her around Vermont and New Hampshire and I’m disabled. But even though they didn’t have the mug I was hoping to buy, I expected better food. Maybe it was just because it was early on a Wednesday morning, I don’t know. But I can guarantee you I won’t be back here anytime soon and can’t recommend it.

My husband and I ate here for the Valentine’s evening special which featured a soup and salad starter, a charcuterie board (pictured) a choice of wagyu steak, brown butter scallops or pasta alla vodka and a cake for dessert. My my was every dish *on point* I’ve eaten at much “fancier” more expensive restaurants and had serious flops…. Each of the dishes that came out of the kitchen were cooked well and delicious! I mean look at this cheese board get outta here

Food was wicked good, although they were out of what I originally was hoping for (which is a good sign for them I guess lol). It did take our group of four 15-20 minutes to get a table even though they had another entire empty dining area just sitting there. IMO There were too many people dealing with our table (3) which led to confusion and lackluster service from my view point. Cool building and great food though.

So first off, this is absolutely NOT a diner in the way I was expecting. We’re traveling up north and just stopped somewhere quick for a bite and figured the “Putney Diner” would satisfy our desires. That said, I cannot regret our decision in any way, shape, or form. All the staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. The food was incredible. Everything I had may have been the best version of it I’ve ever had; the best broccoli cheddar soup, the best grilled cheese, and the best fries. I highly recommend this joint.

What a gem to stumble upon! We got off the Putney exit because we were hungry and saw a genera Highway food sign.
Then we saw a sign for the Putney Diner – not what we expected when we walked in. It blew our expectations out of the water!
First was the immediate ambiance – old wood floors, beautiful solid wood bar and live music.
We waited maybe 5 mins and got seated in the adjacent room with a wood fire crackling.
My wife got the Orzo soup and the Panzanella salad. The soup was excellent and the salad was very fresh and crisp.
I got the smash burger and a side of fried pickles.
Our son got the grilled cheese with bacon.
My wife also got a dirty martini and I got a local beer. My wife’s reaction to her first sip, “this may be the best dirty martini I’ve had!”
All the food was amazing! Service was outstanding. And all for less than $90 – what a deal!
We’ll be back!

Went in to eat after seeing the reviews online and checking out the menu. Got to this location and it was COMPLETELY different from the menus we had seen online. So disappointed. The menus online show reasonably priced breakfast and lunch options with tons of choices and comfort diner food staples. Not duck and wine. I even asked if this was the Putney Diner.
Dinner was VERY limited offerings compared to lunch and breakfast. Only the burgers were decently priced and still cost more than most places. Most of the meal options were pretentious and expensive.
We asked about the breakfast they serve all day and apparently they don’t serve it all day even though it still says on the menus “all day breakfast.” We ended up leaving and going somewhere with more options that was reasonably priced.
This may be a nice place to eat, but change the name if you’re going to change the menu and charge high end prices. People don’t go to a diner to pay $40+ /person.
Totally not “diner” vibes.

If it happens that you are in the surrounding area you must come here. You’ll find a welcoming atmosphere, amazing service and most of all the most delicious food . Then you know the owner of the place, Eleni, and you understand why everything is so special.
We would give 6 stars if it was possible ❤️
