On the best of days, this place can be a 4. On other days, it is a 2. Pros, it’s open later than most places around here. The pizza is ok at worse. Some days, it’s really good. It partially depends on who is cooking. I’ve had a few other things there and they pretty good. The brisket is a fatty brisket, not that I mind, but know it’s not a lean cut. Got my first Vermont creemee here as well.

Burgers were above average, fries and side of Mac was tasty. Service was lacking, the young lady who took my order was pretty condescending towards me when I wanted a side of popcorn chicken and she thought I wanted it instead of fries. Thankfully somebody else swooped in and took over, but it didn’t help that it took 40 minutes to get food as the only table seated in the restaurant.. and it was a bit sticky everywhere, from the tables, counters and the chair. I’d recommend mister Up’s.

I am from long island NY and just recently moved to upstate. We have tried to find a decent slice of pizza with no luck. We stumbled upon Shafer’s just the other day . It’s a quaint little place which has everything. The girl that waited on us was the best. She was so nice and professional way beyond her years. She offered to make a fresh pie for us and we weren’t disappointed. It was the best pizza we had since long island. The best part of our visit was the waitress. With her attitude she made our day just a little bit brighter. Thanks. We will definitely come back again.

We stopped in our drive home just before they were closing. 5 of us ordered 5 different sandwiches, hot and cold. The staff were very pleasant. Our sandwiches were delicious- fries too- thick cut, extra cooked, and well seasoned.

As you read these reviews, remember folks that this is the Post-Covid world. Everybody wants to eat out but nobody wants to work. As a result, wait times and quality of service will suffer. Expectations will start to change.
My experience at Shafer’s Market was a tasty one. One of the better burgers I’ve had in a while and the best homemade french fries I’ve had all year. Be patient and the universe will reward you.

Waited an hour for our food! We ordered fish and chips, a quesadilla and a burger which took an hour! The food was okay but not worth the wait and the fish and chips was very greasy. We ended up taking it to go since they took so long. The staff was rude when I asked how much longer it would be (after a half hour wait). We sat next to the pizza station while waiting and the dough was out the whole time we were there uncovered with flies flying around it and the person making the pizza’s could have done better with hygiene. I will not be going back here- not worth my time or money!! This could be a great place to eat with some good staff and management.

this will be my first negative review of a business establishment. I cannot begin to express how terrible this place is. I have had 3 negative experiences now. Kitchen staff is unprofessional, constantly talking instead of cooking. I waited 25 minutes for a cheese steak (no mushrooms) and French fries to go. Fries were undercooked and soggy (probably because their fryer wasn’t hot enough). Steak and cheese had no peppers or onions. I was in a hurry and didn’t have the time to complain or ask for my money back.
Since this place exchanged hands (it used to be “samas”) it’s gone down hill. Absolutely terrible. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Yeet The Bread
The food was adequate, but it took over 45 minutes to get it – and when it did arrive, it was left on the counter and we weren’t told, so by the time we actually ate it, it was cold. Given that there were almost no other customers, I see no excuse for the amount of time it took to prepare basic fast food (burgers and fries), or for the sloppy service. We will definitely not be returning.

This matches up with all the other times I have given This place a try where the service stinks the staff are unfriendly and very rude to the point where as a customer your afraid to simply ask
“How long do you think that will that take”
A question all customers should feel comfortable asking!
A customer should never feel like they can’t ask a simple question about there order without getting a look or an unfriendly answer!
every visit except 1 it has taken in insane amount of time to get my food!
I am sorry to have had to say all of this it sucks to have to leave this kind of review anywhere for any restaurant/Business
