We stopped here on the way from southern New Mexico to Colorado. We are on an ongoing quest for the best chile relleno—and unfortunately, this one didn’t earn that title.

We ordered the chile relleno plate, priced at a somewhat steep $17, especially considering it only comes with one side. We chose beans and also ordered an additional side of Spanish rice.

First impressions were strong. The plate looked appetizing, and upon cutting into the chile relleno, the batter was pleasantly crispy at first. However, as the meal went on, the crispiness completely disappeared. It became clear that there was simply too much batter. Worse, the batter didn’t add much flavor—it felt more like filler, tasting like basic fried breading rather than something that enhanced the dish.

The beans tasted fresh, though the portion was quite small. The Spanish rice was passable, but the rice-to-tomato-sauce ratio was off. There was too much sauce, and the flavor didn’t really contribute anything special.

The true standout was the green chile. It came in the form of diced chiles in a light liquid, not thickened with flour or anything else. The heat landed at a solid medium-plus, which we really appreciated, and the flavor and fire genuinely shined.

Service was okay but unremarkable. Our water glasses were never refilled, and our dirty dishes were eventually cleared by someone other than our main server.

The atmosphere, however, is fun and full of potential. The saloon-style swinging doors leading into a fully decked-out bar are a great touch. Other menu items may shine more than the chile relleno—especially the desserts. If we return, we’d likely order something different.

For now, though, the search continues. We’re still on the hunt for the world’s best chile relleno.

100% the worst service I have had in quite a long time. Everything started off pretty well but quickly turned south once our waitress failed to check on us. Just mentioning that you have to pay $4 for bottomless chips and salsa which is free at most Mexican restaurants… we ran out of drinks and chips. Our waitress didn’t come by to ask if we wanted more. When we finally got her attention, we were notified that they needed to go to the store to buy us more chips after one basket for 4 people. We asked for them to be removed from the bill as we did not want to wait. We were told that they would knock $2 off but that wasn’t the correct thing to do if you offer something that you can’t provide. We asked for the manager and her attitude was worse than the server. After speaking with her I was asked where I was from. She stated that the local people knew to be patient. Then all of a sudden she said was making us chips that magically appeared in the kitchen and she was unable to take them off. She blamed the drink situation on the bartender which had nothing to do with it because the waitress never came back to see if we needed another drink. They weren’t that busy. There were several open tables. Do better!

Reply: I’ve never been an aggressive or disrespectful customer. I normally would have accepted hearing that they had to go to the store in order to fulfill what they offered but I’ve never had to pay for chips and salsa from a Mexican restaurant so I wanted what I was paying for. The attitude definitely started on the side of the server when I asked for the chips and salsa to be removed from the bill after not wanting to wait an additional 20 mins or more for them to go to the store and prepare the new chips. We were told if the chips didn’t get there before our food arrived then they would bring them out afterwards. The attitude continued with the manager and after being asked if I was local, that’s when I got upset. Not once did I raise my voice but I wasn’thappy with the service and I let them know that. Lastly, having 4 or 5 empty tables, that I could see, doesn’t represent a busy night for most decent restaurants. If your staff can’t handle the volume then the manager should do a better job of training and staffing. When people go out they expect good service, none of that was present at this restaurant. The replies to negative reviews from the owner tells you everything you need to know about this terrible restaurant. No apologies, no concern for the customer and believing the lies saying that we were aggressive from the beginning. Do better!

We ordered for food at about 12 noon after 45 mins. we were informed our ordered was put in the last by mistake and asked us it will take another 15-20 mins. more. We were traveling cross states and we decided to stick with our order. Eventually our food was served at 1:13 PM. Food was nice, not excellent. But young man (sorry.. I couldn’t get our server’s name properly) was very helpful.

I was born and raised in Las Vegas and now I live in Albuquerque I manage a store in Las Vegas where I go out once a week. After finding out a couple days ago Rialto was open again my family was excited. I avoided taking a lunch after working a 12 hour shift excited to place an order for my family which would of been an easy $100 bill I call to place a carry out order to be told they do not do carry out orders for dinner time at 5:00pm. Wouldn’t it be easier to place the food in carry out boxes then to have to worry about Managing a table? That would’ve been an easy $30 tip as excited as my family was to eat. Rialto food. At this point, I don’t care how good the food was. I will not attempt to give them my service shame on you, Garcia family.

The tamales plate (with green chili) was delicious! The Spanish rice as a side did not add anything to it. Perhaps I should have chosen a different side. The chips (from chips and salsa) were a little stale, but looked made in house.
The venue could use an update, but it keeps the nostalgic feel of what it used to be. The wait staff is great.
The restrooms are accessible through the bar area.

I went on a Friday evening and was able to be seated fairly quickly. Our server was nice and got our food out quickly. There was a gentleman playing music and he was really good! But we were seated right next to him and it got hard to hear the conversation at the table. But overall a great meal!! Chicken wasn’t dry and the red Chile was amazing!

This place was amazing! We loved our food and they provided a lot of it. I told our waitress that I have celiac disease and I can’t eat gluten. She returned after taking our order to let me know the red sauce has flour in it and asked if I wanted to change my order. This rarely happens that a server has returned to let me know I should change my order. I really appreciate her doing that for me.
